Debate Etiquette
By Thomas, bettingexpert.com | Edited
Dear BettingExperts,
We have rebuilt the site to facilitate the best possible community for the BettingExperts using the site. This means it is possible to comment on basically all pages on the site. But commenting might create problems and hostility - just check the comments on youtube. We want none of that on BettingExpert. Therefore we have a short manifesto on how to use the site:
Help other BettingExperts
When reading a pick and seeing something that you feel is wrong - please write it in the comment section! This might be news and facts about starting line up or any other conditions relevant to the picks.
No Flaming, Rude or Ungrounded Criticism
If you do post comments that are flaming or rude in any way, we will delete it and give you a yellow card. It is, of course, fine to be critical of other BettingExperts, but please formulate your critique politely and kindly. Save the flaming for YouTube ;)
No Cheating in Competitions and with BE-Points
At BettingExert, we have a bunch of monthly competitions and various kinds. We also have BE-points to reward the BettingExperts who engage constructively in the BE community. All such systems can always be abused. But we kindly ask you not to. If you are caught cheating, we reserve all rights to close your account at no further notice. But don't play straight because you want to avoid sanctions - do the right thing because it's right :)
Promotional Content
Promoting a business, product, or service is permitted, but only if the promotion is highly relevant to the discussion. Whether promotional content is valuable is entirely at BettingExpert's discretion. Linking to a newspaper article is usually fine, but linking to another betting site is usually not relevant. If you work on another betting site or represent a sportsbetting site, please don't spam our forums.
Off-Topic Comments
We cherish the sense of community, friendship and humour frequently demonstrated in the comments. However, we do strive to deliver information about sports betting, so please stay on topic.
Thumbs
Thumbs are meant as a way to express your thoughts on a pick. However, you may not use thumbs for personal attacks or harassment. If abused, we will remove these thumbs and may also remove accounts that engage in thumb abuse.
