FA Cup: Reading vs. Liverpool
By Joe, www.bettingexpert.com | Published (Edited )
The FA Cup magic is back and Reading will be hosting the mighty Reds from Liverpool on Saturday late afternoon kickoff. Reading FC will certainly see this as a glorious tie with a bit of money in the coffin but by all means, no shame if they lose to the Premiership team. Liverpool are favorites to beat Reading in the FA Cup 3rd round.
Reading will be thinking to themselves whether this is a good time to meet Liverpool in the FA Cup. They know their opponent are struggling in their recent form earlier December but the Christmas period saw the Reds back into their normal stride of winning. This is certainly giving some headaches for Reading in the upcoming FA cup fixture. They are currently 20th in the Championship and lost 4-1 away last weekend to Plymouth. More misery are heading toward Reading.
The Christmas saw Liverpool take two wins out of two games. A deep injury winner from Fernando Torres against Aston Villa saw Liverpool climb back into the Champions league contentions and back to winning ways. Rafa Benitez will want to make some impression in this competition as this could gave some silverware that Liverpool are longing for since the Premiership title and Champions League title are derailed. Liverpool will travel to Reading without Albert Riera and Glen Johnson, who could be out for months with a knee injury.
Fernando Torres is the man to watch at Reading. Last time these two teams met was in the Carling Cup and the Torres scored his first hat trick in English football. That night was surely memorable for some Liverpool fans and surely a repeat of this could certainly once again become reality. Although, never doubt the FA Cup spirit, Reading will have something up their sleeves.
