Where Will David Beckham Play Next?
Nov 20th, 2012 - Posted by JimCampbell in Football
Hello, I'm Jim, I'm a stand up comic and presenter on The Football Ramble podcast. I also write for bettingexpert.
Which club will David Beckham play for next? Will it be the Melbourne Heart? How about a return to Manchester or a stint as James Bond? Today on the blog Jim Campbell of the Football Ramble considers the candidates.

David Beckham is to leave LA Galaxy, with the MLS Cup final clash with Houston Dynamo to be his last appearance. He's spent 6 years in Los Angeles and now says he has one more challenge left in him. He can go practically anywhere in the world, the sheer range of choice must be giving him headaches, so Dave, if you're reading this, I've decided to make your life a little bit easier and narrow down the options:
Australia:
Five different clubs are rumoured to be interested in signing Dave, including Melbourne Heart and Perth Glory, who announced their intentions to enter the race on Twitter. I suppose it's cheaper than hosting a press conference and if they're serious about bringing Beckham down under then they're going to have to start cutting costs so they can afford him.
Russia:
The word “challenge” is a smart one for Dave to have used – even if I suspect that he pronounced it as “challinge” - because it can be applied to absolutely anything. Helping a mega rich Russian club increase their status would certainly be challinging, though moving to Russia might be an issue for his family in the future. Makhachkala Beckham doesn't have much of a ring to it. Then again, neither does Harper Seven.
China:
I'm sure it's long been a dream of Dave's to inspire a generation of Chinese children to get into football. More importantly, somebody needs to repair the damage that Gazza will have almost certainly done to our image out there.
UAE:
££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££
Manchester:
The possibilities are myriad. Well, there are three. City, because it would annoy United, and for no other reason than that. Then there's United themselves, perhaps as a short cameo loan before he decides on what his latest adventure will be. There would be something heart warming about a Manchester United midfield featuring Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and David Beckham and actually being good in 2012. Finally, there's FC United of Manchester, if he fancied dropping down a few levels. If he did fancy doing that...
AFC Wimbledon:
The MLS Cup final takes place on the 1st of December. AFC Wimbledon meet MK Dons for the first time ever in the FA Cup on the 2nd of December. Emotions are running high for fans of Wimbledon, who are understandably still aggrieved that their club was moved to Milton Keynes, put into administration and renamed. Dave should have time to win the MLS cup with a stunning free kick, pose for the cameras for ages, jump on a plane then turn out for Wimbledon in a one off appearance the next day, winning the match like a knight in shining armour and a paragon of all that is right and true.
Retirement:
It is feasible that David doesn't know he can retire, that or that he's signed up to so many sponsorship deals he can't retire until he's 65 like everyone else. Just put your feet up, David. You've earned it.
Bond:
James Bond. Much like David himself, Daniel Craig is set to leave the franchise. Our man D-Beck is globally recognisable as a quintessential modern Englishman and has the looks to portray 007. The only issue would be his voice, but he could just be dubbed over with someone who has a deeper voice. Brian Blessed, for example.
So there you go David, those are just some of your options. I hope that's of help and that you enjoy your next adventure.....he's going to go to Australia, isn't he?

Since Posh has a line for herself, Paris can't be that far off to get her shop in the French capital. So my bet is that Beckham is off to PSG. You have the money, the oil money, the fame, the glory, the brand, the fashion and what more, the grey weather of Europe. Welcome back Beckham to Europe and Champions League football.

Growing the Beckham brand > Money
I don't think money is an issue, he has got plenty and he will keep continuing getting plenty.
My money is on China, what better market to grow the Beckham brand? Sign him up, Shanghai Shenhua!
