Which Premier League clubs were the teams to bet on last season? Which were the ones to stay away from? Andrew takes a look and hands out the awards for betting value this season. The winners might surprise you.
Now that season 2010/2011 is in the books, let's hand out the awards as we have a look at where the betting value was over the past 9 months of Premier League football . We will look at a number of categories and see which teams performed the best at even stakes this season. (Even stakes – betting a single unit on each outcome, win, loss or draw)
Best home team to bet on
Wolverhampton
Wolves were gold at home this season racking up over 14 units in their 19 games on home turf. That would have been a return of over 75% had you bet a single unit on Wolves to win each of their home contests this season. Second place goes to Manchester United who dominated at home collecting over 8 units profit, while Stoke finished third just shy of United with 8.08 units of profit in home competition.

Best away team to bet on
Blackpool
Fan favourites Blackpool were the best away team to bet on this season, despite their eventual relegation. With upset wins over Liverpool and Newcastle, Blackpool was able to rack up 14 units of profit away from home in 2010/2011. Second place goes to Sunderland who managed 10.55 units of profit on the road this season, with West Brom in third place with 6.8 units to the good side of the ledger.

Bet On Who?
- Only 6 clubs made a profit when playing away from home in 2010/2011.
- Both Chelsea and Manchester United were amongst the bottom 5 clubs to bet on away from home this season, along with Birmingham, West Ham and Bolton.
- While the best club to bet on away from home this season, Blackpool were 16th to bet on in home games.
- Bolton had the greatest swing from home form to away form against the odds this season, being almost 19 units of profit better at home.
Best home team to bet against
Arsenal
Had you bet a single unit against Arsenal in each of their home games this season, you would have come away with 18.5 units of profit, at almost 100% return. Losses to West Brom, Newcastle and Tottenham at home, saw the Gunners the worst performed home team against the odds in 2010/2011. Second place went to Liverpool who gave up 8 units of profit to opponents while lowly West Ham surrendered 4.21 units in home games this season.

Best away team to bet against
Liverpool
Yes, Liverpool had a season to forget, especially away from home. They gave up 13.29 units of profit to opponents away from home in 2010/2011 at almost 70% return. Second place went to Chelsea who gave doubters over 9 units of profit in 2010/2011 when on the road, while Stoke were 5.26 units of profit when bet against away from home this season.

Bet Against Who?
- Betting against Manchester clubs would have left you a total of 29.7 units on the wrong side of the ledger in 2010/2011.
- Power clubs Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal were the top 3 clubs to bet against in 2010/2011. Doing so would have given you over 47 units of profit at a return of over 41%.
- Arsenal had the greatest swing in home to away form when bet against, being over 23 units more value to opposition bettors at home this season.
Best home team to bet on the draw
Tottenham
Spurs were the best team to bet on for the draw at home this season, giving stalemate fans almost 14 units of profit at home this season. In all, Tottenham drew 7 times on home turf in 2010/2011. Second place goes to Birmingham who collected over 8 units in draw winnings this season, with Newcastle not far behind with 7.95 units of draw profit this season.

Best away team to bet on the draw
Manchester United
The Red Devils were the best team to bet on for a stalemate away from home in season 2010/2011, racking up almost 16 units in profit at almost 84% return. Fulham were in second place with 10.4 units of profit, followed by Everton in third place with 7.65 units.

Who wants a draw?
- Power clubs Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea were amongst the bottom 5 clubs to bet on for the draw in 2010/2011.
- Wigan was the best club to bet on for the draw in 2010/2011, racking up over 15 units of profit for drawn games this season.
- Wigan was 4th in both home and away drawn value this season, while Everton was 5th at home and 3rd in away games, leaving them in 2nd place for drawn value overall behind Wigan.
