# Roulette Tips

There are hundreds upon hundreds of websites out there on the internet which will lay claim to having a perfect formula for winning on the roulette wheel, many of them charging for their services. However, the truth is that there is no perfect formula, there are some tips which you can follow in order to increase your chances but there is no sure fired way of winning on this game of random numbers.
The internet can be a great source of information on almost everything. You can get your news online and roulette tips and tricks are no exception. However, the best advice that can be given is to take in as many roulette tips and tricks as you can and then make your own decision based on all the information that you have.
Typically when visiting an online casino you will be faced with a choice between three different roulette wheels - American Roulette, European Roulette and French Roulette. French and European roulette are essentially the same game consisting of numbers 0-36 whereas American roulette includes the double zero as well.
The biggest and most important roulette tips that you should consider is never to play the American roulette version. The reason being is that the extra zero increases the house edge considerably; whilst winning numbers continue to pay out at 35/1 the actual chances of winning are 1/37 as appose to the 1/36 that you will get on the European and French versions.

## Martingale System

The Martingale system is the most common of online roulette tips and essentially says that you should back an even money bet (i.e. red) and continue to double your stake after every loss. In theory this is a fool proof system, however, in practice it is not so infallible. Firstly because you may need a bottomless pit of money, as after a few losing bets, doubling your stake on every spin can become very expensive very quickly and secondly because almost every online casino will have a high stakes limit. Approach the commonly preached Martingale system with extreme caution.

## Other Roulette systems

There are various other systems and roulette tricks which have been tried and tested in the past including the Labouchere system and the D'Alembert system which were developed by practising mathematicians. However, none have been proven in the long term and one thing you should always remember is that you cannot beat the house edge; after all if there were a system that worked then you can be sure that casinos would remove the roulette wheel from their premises rather sharply.
