Real Madrid has won in mid-week champions league game at home against Manchester City. It was tough game with two very late goals for Real for 3-2 win. But seems that things are far from good in this team. The best player, Ronaldo is not satisfied with his status in the team and after game with City there was also some issue about goalkeeper and captain Iker Casillas who was very cold in last moments of the game and has not celebrated winning goals (one goal scored Ronaldo). Unofficially Casillas and Ronaldo are in conflict, but most likely these are just rumors. Yet, beside all this, head coach Jose Mourinho has announced the return to England probably at the end of the season. But all this in my opinion should not affect on performance of Real in today's game.
When it comes to mutual meetings with Rayo Vallecano, Real won 8 straight games. In previous season it was 1-0 and 6-2.

Real created stunning number of 35 shots on goal against man City and still finished only 3 of them and in the last 5 minutes they scored 2 goals. It is really awful conversion rate. I think that despite the fact that teams managed by J. Mourinho are usually in great fitness it must have been draining and tiring match. Vallecano are not the easiest opponents. They have lost only one match this season – against fellow Madrid team Atletico away. Apart from trashing by Barcelona last year they are not often beaten soundly at home. Against Real they play particularly well – last two matches at home they have lost by a single goal difference. It should be the case again.

On paper an easy match for Real Madrid. After their victory against Manchester City, one would think that they would crush Rayo Vallecano, but I believe that they are still a struggling team, and they are still rebuilding themselves after a disappointed start to the season.
They only have 4 points from 4 matches, where Rayo has 7.
I think they will have benefited from the Champions League round, but their fatigue isn't near top level at the moment. There's also a psychological factor to take note of. The biggest saga revolving Real Madrid at the moment is the Cristiano Ronaldo one. He has been whining a lot over the past week, and it has clearly affected the team.
To sum it up: Real Madrid will grab their 3 points tonight, but with their current form, and the opponent they are facing, there isn't going to be more than max 3 goals.

Real Madrid have finally broke the ices and made an impressive match after the win in Supercup against Barcelona. After being down 1-2 against Manchester City at home just five minutes before the end of the match, they managed to get all three points winning 3-2. A great game it was, and I bet on Real in it, it was a great feeling.
However, in La Liga they are behind Barcelona big time (eight points difference) and are in need of points and now that they will be in a way better mood psychologically than, for example, after the match against Sevilla, I doubt Rayo Vallecano will find weapons against Real Madrid.
