Super Bowl 2011

The Super Bowl is American sport’s showpiece event and is the championship game of the National Football League (NFL). It is contested each year between the AFC and the NFC league’s respective champions and watched by an estimated 100 million viewers worldwide. Until recently the Super Bowl was considered the most watched annual sporting event in the world, but that accolade has recently been taken over by football’s UEFA Champions League final.

Super Bowl 2011

The 2011 Super Bowl will be the 45th annual edition of the jewel in the NFL’s crown and will be played on February 6, 2011, at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.  The 2011 Super Bowl will come at the conclusion of the 2010 NFL season which begins on September 9, 2010. The regular season then ends on January 2, 2011 with the play-offs taking place between January 8 and January 23.

New Orleans Saints defeated the Indianapolis Colts 31-17 in last year’s American football Super Bowl and are the defending Super Bowl champions as a result. However, it is the Colts that command favouritism in the Super Bowl 2011 Odds with bookmaker William Hill, whilst the Saints vie for second favouritism with the San Diego Chargers.

You can bet on Super Bowl 2011 with all of the major online bookmakers with betting markets being offered on everything from the winner of the Super Bowl to who will score the winning touch-down or kick the winning field goal and almost anything in between.

You can also bet on a range of Super Bowl related specials including which conference (AFC or NFC) will produce the Super Bowl 2011 winner, which division the winner will come from and also which player will be named the NFL’s most valuable player (MVP).

It is no surprise to see the Colts as favourites to win Super Bowl 2011 given the positive nature in which they started last season – they won their opening 14 games, the longest winning streak in history. Quarterback Peyton Manning – winner of four NFL MVP awards – will once again be the key to any success that they might achieve this season. Can anyone stop the Colts express?
