Michelangelo was purchased for no less than 550,000gns and is extremely well-bred on the Galileo/Darshaan cross. He showed his class with his close 3rd in a good listed contest on debut and this time he should go one better for powerful trainer John Gosden in a small field in which only Perennial looks a real danger. His price is not great, obviously, but it only reflects his ability, and he is confidently taken to win the listed race scheduled at 3.45 at Goodwood. Expense Claim is in form but he is only rated 85 which shouldn't be enough to bother Michelangelo, while Jungle Beat is 2nd string for the Gosden stable according to jockey bookings. Perennial might be better but failed miserably at Newmarket last time, while Polydamos looks outclassed.
