Can Quarterback Drew Brees help the New Orleans Saints to another victory against the New England Patriots on Monday Night? This will stretch the Saints to a record of 11-0-0 in their regular season and speaking on 11-0-0 records, the Indianapolis Colts will face the Houston Texans to preserve their undefeated run in the regular season. |
NFL Week 12
NFL Week 12 commenced already last Thursday as the American holiday gave way for Thanksgiving, the holiday that cooks turkey and watch American Football. As a run up to the Superbowl, Bettingexpert will be covering weekly games and follow the team that make it to the Superbowl XLIV in Land Shark Stadium, home of the Miami Dolphin in South Florida on the 7th February 2010.
New Orleans Saints vs. New England Patriots
Monday night football and the Saints will host the New England Patriots at the Louisiana Superdome. New Orleans Saints are one of the current teams in the NFL to hold a 10-0-0 record in the regular season. They are set to emulate the record that the Patriots have set back in 2007 with a 16-0-0 in the regular season. The Saints have one man to thank, quarterback Drew Brees who has thrown over 2746 yards registering 22 touchdowns passes. The Saint’s dynamic offense has an average of 36.9 points and seen 12 different players scoring touchdowns this season. Reggie Bush, Sedrick Ellis, Jabari Greer, Lance Moore and Tracy Porter all missed the win against Tampa Bay in Week 11.
New England Patriots are currently 7-3 and it is their on the road form that has incurred the defeats.
The Patriots leads the American Football Conference East and their winning streak is stretch to one. They will be searching to make it 2 at the Louisiana Superdome as they have a good record there. If they want to win, then it will be up to how Tom Brady performs. He has thrown over 3049 yards and have 20 touchdowns passes. Brady and Randy Moss will be the one to watch for the Patriots. Sam Aiken, Jarvis Green, Sammy Morris, Rob Ninkovich, Shawn Springs and Fred Taylor were all injured and miss playing against the New York Jets.
This is a QB fight between Brees and Brady. Who will win? That’s a question that we will leave for the outcome of the Monday Night Football. Both teams will have to sacrifice some of their running plays in order get their passing plays going. Going into this game, the Patriots have the advantage simply because they have won the last three meeting in the regular season.
Houston Texans vs. Indianapolis Colts
The Texans have lost back to back games and sitting third in the American Football Conference South. Their record stands at 5-5-0 overall where their home record is 2-3-0. Bad news for Texans as some of the Texan players will have in the back of their mind of the 20-17 defeat early this month at Indianapolis. It was a close game and quarterback Schaub threw 311 yards that day and if they want to win at the Reliant Stadium, then Schaub needs to throw better and more. Dominique Barber, Brain Cushing, Antwaun Modlen, DeMeco Ryans and Steve Slaton are all doubtful to face the Colts while Joel Dreessen and Jacoby Jones should be back in the squad.
It’s not surprising that the Colt’s success is down to one man, quarterback Peyton Manning, as he has thrown over 3171 yards with 21 touchdown passes. He is suffering a glute injury but he has been practicing so there is a chance that he will play against Houston. They are the other team in NFL to maintain an undefeated record with 10-0-0. They have an impeccable season with a few close calls in some of their games. The injury list at the Colt is long with 25 players suffering one injury or another, on the positive side, 11 players have practice and amongst them are Joseph Addai and Tim Jennings.
The Colts are favorites to extend their win to 11 against the Houston Texas. A win here could cement a place in the playoff for them. On the other hand, the Texans know they'll have to start winning in order to even dream to get into the playoffs. They have six games left to secure first playoff berth in eight seasons. Most of the action will be in the air so expect a lot of passing and a few interceptions but at the end of the day, the Colts should come on top.
