Jamies Osbourne's consistent Cloudy Start is fancied to give weight away all round and land Wolverhampton's featured Ladbrokes Mobile Handicap at 3.45.
The 6-y-o won a 1m4f selling event at Southwell in February and added to that tally in a 2m handicap here on his penultimate start. His fair fourth last time out has proved solid form and he has the promising claimer Leonna Mayor taking off 5lb this afternoon.
There are many dangers for the £2500 prize money, with perhaps Tropical Bachelor boasting the most solid claims. He landed a brace of 1m4f handicaps for Tim Pitt in 2010 but didn't manage to win last season in a light campaign. However, a solid reappearance third here last month hinted that his turn is near again and he is back down to a very feasible mark under the excellent Frederick Tylicki.
Delagoa Bay remains a frustrating maiden after fifteen attempts, but has found his level recently with some fair placed efforts in similar contests on the all-weather. This course and distance seems to suit but it remains to be seen if he is willing to put his head in front under pressure.
Goodlukin Lucy returns with a change of stable to the in-form Dianne Sayer yard and is worth a precautionary check in the betting near the off to guage any confidence behind her chance. She lost her way in better races on the turf last term and has not cut much ice over hurdles in the winter, however she is very well treated now if delving back far enough in her form, and any cash would encourage support.
Mecox Bay has won just 1 race in 18 attempts and is probably flattered by his apparently improved seventh when out of the weights in a decent contest last time, while Call of Duty has regressed over hurdles recently and shows his best form only very sporadically.
In summary, a typically competitive staying handicap, but Cloudy Start may just be a cut above and has proved himself over course and distance recently. At around 5/1 this morning he is worth a small each-way investment to swoop in the closing stages.
