Tom Dascombe enjoyed Royal Ascot glory last week and can continue in winning form with his sprinter Electric Qatar in the Mirror Punters Club Handicap at 2.45.

The 3-y-o was highly tried as a juvenile, but had come down to a career-low mark when cashing in to open his account in a course and distance handicap a week ago. He is well drawn in stall one and looks good to follow up under his penalty with Richard Kingscote in the saddle again.

Main danger for the £3500 prize money comes from William Muir's Little China. The lightly raced filly was an impressive winner of a maiden here on her second of three starts as a 2-y-o. She has yet to fire on turf so far this term, but a return to this venue could well see her return to form from a leninet handicap mark. A positive move in the betting would further encourage support.

Kyanight hinted that his turn was near when second to Subtle Knife at Lingfield in May, but then performed abysmally when a remote sixth last time out. He is feared if recapturing his former sparkle and the Clive Cox yard has returned to form in the past week after a spell in the wilderness.

Star Kingdom showed some promise at Windsor on his debut but has not gone on since, running as if amiss at Kempton when last seen in April. The handicapper has given him a real chance however, and any move in the betting after 56 days off would be very significant.

At a bigger price Economic Crisis may outrun his odds. Alan Berry's 3-y-o is a long-standing maiden who seemed to run particularly well when second of five in a Hamilton claimer last time. She has to back that up but has a good draw in stall two and is an each-way alternative to our selection.

Bookiesindexdotnet is a pacey frontrunner who was well held 7 days ago and has slim prospects of turning things around here, while Gran Canaria Queen has it all to do from 6lb out of the weights.

In summary, a gilt edged chance for Electic Qatar to follow up. He showed a rare turn of foot at this level when coming from last to first there, and a draw in stall one should mean he can lay up more handily this time. At around 5-4 this morning he is worthy of a strong win investment.
