Bedloe's Island usually reserves his best form for Redcar, and he can land the Voltigeur Restaurant £10.95 Two Course Special Handicap at 3.40 this afternoon.

Captain Scooby has been on the go for a long time and has rather failed to translate the improvement shown on the all-weather this winter to turf, while Azzurra de Caprio seems certain to need a few runs to reach optimum fitness levels after 256 days on the sidelines.

Another Wise Kid hails from the in-form Paul Midgeley stable and a positive move in the betting would be a huge clue he was fancied to strike again. He clearly needed the run when a remote ninth of thirteen in soft ground at Doncaster on his return, but this quicker surface will suit a deal better and winning off this mark is certainly well within his compass.

Master Rooney showed little on his return and has to find improvement to get involved, while Electric Qatar is one of the Dascombe yard's lesser lights.

In summary, Beddoe's Island has outstanding claims to land a tight sprint at his favourite venue. Two runs already on the turf in better races should have brought him to the boil and he is worth a maximum each-way investment at around 5-1 this morning.
