Ravens Jet

Both the Baltimore Ravens and New York Jets have a few old scores to settle and much lies in the hands of Jets Head Coach Rex Ryan to get things done for his side. The NFL champions, Green Bay Packers will remain on course to get their fourth win over the Denver Broncos who are visiting Lambeau Field.

Green Bay Packers vs. Denver Broncos

The Packers are packing everybody up in a box and shipping them back to where they came from. They managed to keep their 100% win streak going into Week 4 of the NFL season. The Packers are more than happy to take on the role of being the favourites this Sunday when the Broncos are on the visit. More importantly is that the Packers are doing well, offensively and defensively, according to head coach Mick McCarthy. There is more work to do defensively, so one thing is settled, QB Aaron Rodgers will maintain his form in the passing game, Greg Jenning keep the fans happy with the TDs and also Ryan Grant doing his part in the rushing game. Looks like a straight matter of winning for the Packers.

The Broncos are up for a tough task and no doubt that there will be a bit more work to do if they want to compete with the Packers. They will have to assume the role of being the underdogs. Three of their games this season were close contests, they lost two games. It is also the little things that can make a big difference, and well, for Head Coach John Fox, he's made the wrong calls. This has lead to a plead from the fans to get Tim Tebow in the mix rather than having main QB K. Orton get all the fun. Otherwise, good news is that Knowshon Moreno could return to boost the running game which they lacked against Tennessee where he was out with a hamstring injury.

Verdict: Packers just simply too good with Aaron Rodgers doing his magic

Baltimore Ravens vs. New York Jets

Sunday evening will see a clash personal to the Ravens and the New York Jet’s head coach, Rex Ryan. Baltimore Ravens passed up Rex Ryan for the position of head of coach with Brian Billick’s dismissal in 2008. Ever since then, the Ravens defense has not been quite what it was, maybe due to the fact that they lost Rex Ryan. They are currently 2-1 overall and out of the blue, they commanded a well high scoring win of 37-7 over the St. Louis. Of course the Ravens are not known for their high scoring prowess. Having said that, two of the their three wins have gone past the 30 point mark and so if this continues then the Jets will need to come up with some big defense to stop the new Raven premium offense. QB Joe Flacco will continue to make the passing plays to Ray Rice and with a bit more luck, Anquan Boldin could get involved a bit more.

The New York Jets suffered a tough defeat to the Oakland Raiders last weekend which also displeased Head Coach Rex Ryan. A repeat of this could mean serious consqeuqences for the Jet’s chances to get into the Superbowl this season. Both Antonio Cromartie and Nick Mangold are doubtful to face the Ravens but it’s the defense that needs a bit more to do at Baltimore as they are up against a formidable opposition, not a push over. Coach Rex Ryan really needs get his men back in shape and close off those gaps in the rushing game. This will be their second road game and they need some kind of uplifting spirit before they face New England. Therefore a hard earned win Is needed and only the defensive can help the cause.

Verdict: Tight affair in which Jets should provide enough firepower if they defend well.

Lines I'm taking this week : Dallas -1.5, Tennessee +1, Washington -1, Indianapolis +10
