The New York Jets are known for their defense play but their offense has not got their act together and suffering in every way for their SuperBowl aspirations. They will face the Miami Dolphins at home this Monday Night. Talking about aspirations, the Green Bay Packers are closing in for yet another great season, 5-0 and they are taking on the St. Louis Rams at home.
Green Bay Packers vs. St. Louis Rams
Lambeau Field (Sunday)
Back at the Lambeau Field, things are just getting better and better for the Green Bay Packers going into the Week 5 of the NFL season. They are 5 for 5 and they are faced in an unprecedented favorite label as they take on St. Louis Rams. The Packers also became the first reigning super bowl champion to win five consecutive games since 2007. The momentum is seriously on a stream train rolling on to victories and more victories, question is now whether this is one of the greatest team ever to grace the decade. Of course, St. Louis Rams is standing in their way but that shouldn’t be a tough task for QB Aaron Rodgers. He was being toughen out in the 25-14 win over the Atlanta Falcons last weekend and there is much anticipation that he will throw a few more TDs on Sunday.
The Rams are struggling and their bye round last weekend must have given them time to prepare for the road games ahead of them. First they are to take on the Packers and then off to Dallas looking for a win against the Cowboys. However, their statistic won’t suggest that they will have a good chance as their four games have resulted in four defeats. Good news is that they are able to recruit both cornerback Brian Jackson and wide receiver Nick Miller into the roster. The latter newcomer will be able to help the Rams get some points on the scoreboard, providing his understanding with Quarterback Sam Bradford will hit it off quickly, otherwise both Danario Alexander and Brandon Gibson will bear the responsibilities.
Verdict: Packers to run the show and win yet again.
New York Jets vs. Miami Dolphins
New Meadowsland Stadium (Monday)
Monday Night Football and this time it’s the New York Jets that will have to live up to the bill of the home team winning in this nationwide televised match. Three straight defeats and many fans won’t know what has hit them. The Jets seems to struggle when going forward. They are a good running team but suddenly this season, they look afraid to run on the opposition’s defense. The offensive line is going nowhere and there is no cover for QB Mark Sanchez. This is a team that has superbowl aspirations and only the defense side is looking somewhat on par, but otherwise Rex Ryan needs to bring his something to the table on Monday or his season could end.
The Dolphins are no better than the Jets when it comes to losing. They are currently one of the worse teams in the NFL with 4 straight defeats out of four games. If the Jets are not gelling then the Dolphins aren’t able to play together but then again, this team is in transition and not much expectation is coming out from Miami. Quarterback Chad Henne and co. were given a Bye round last week so with enough rest could give them some confidence and preparation for the travel upstate to New York. But for a QB who has only thrown 4 TD passes and only Brandon Marshall with the only TD from the receivers and rushing backs, then this is a team that needs some kind of a character building.
Verdict: Both struggling but Jets have the ammunition to win.
