Cowboys Eagles

Sacking Tony Romo is a norm for the Philadelphia Eagles and might just be enough to beat the Cowboys this coming Sunday. The Cowboys are on their road trip to find a win over the Eagles while New Orleans Saints will attempt once again to win big over the St. Louis Rams.

St. Louis Rams vs. New Orleans Saints

The Rams are about to pack things up for the season going into Week 8 of the NFL season. They have managed to lose every game they are scheduled to play and the morale in the camp is at an all time low. The biggest problem is that the Rams aren’t able to handle is the opposition’s run. Time after time, running backs have just given the Rams nightmares and also giving them no hope on defense. If defending is not the key then scoring is the only way to win games but that is not encouraging either as they are without QB Sam Bradford who is out for the second straight game with an left ankle sprain. It is likely that A.J Feeley will be making yet another appearance. They are 6 out of 6, defeats and a seventh at home could be coming and that would be their 4th defeat at the Edward Jones Dome.

The Saints bounced back strong last weekend with a 62-7 home win over the Indianapolis Colts. They inflicted one of the heaviest defeat to their franchise history. Their win could kick start some consecutive wins in the coming weeks but with the Rams next on the list, it doesn’t come any easier than that. This is going to be a field day for QB Drew Brees and maybe with head coach Sean Payton calling the shots in the booth rather on the touchline, there might be a blessing for the team as he is trying to recover from breaking his tibia and a torn MCL. All in all, it is going to be a day of scoring spree with running backs M. Ingram and D. Sproles looking to enhance their rushing statistics. Watch out for these two men as their rushing will cause havoc with the Rams defense.

Verdict: Another crushing defeat dealt by the Saints and Rams not scoring over 10 points.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Dallas Cowboys

Sunday will see one of the biggest rivalries in the NFL going head to head at the Lincoln Fields in Philadelphia. The Eagles were pre-season favourites to get to the Superbowl but after watching the team go through a 4 game winless streak, their overall record of 2-4 speaks for itself as to how things have gone this season. Nevertheless, they bounced back last weekend with a 20-13 win on the road over the Washington Redskins and this could spur on a different kind of season from here on in. The Eagles will see a return of defensive end Trent Cole and that could help the team to keep things clean but what is more likely to be expected is QB Michael Vick going one better than last week.

The Cowboys must remember how it felt to win at the Lincoln Field last season with a 14-13 score line and also the wildcard playoff win with 34-14. If there is going to be a repeat then head coach Jason Garrett would be more than happy to continue their winning streak. They also bounced back from two straight defeats to Detroit Lions and the New England Patriots and rallied themselves to defeat the St. Louis Rams with a 34-7 win. The Cowboys have an advantage over the Eagles and it’s not surprising that they will control the tempo with the game. They will use the best of their abilities with running backs D. Murray and Felix Jones to cut through the Eagles defensive weakness.

Verdict: Intense game with an intense win for the Eagles who will try to make a statement.
