Magic vs. Bulls

A match up not to be missed as Orlando Magic's Dwight Howard takes on Chicago Bull Derrick Rose this Friday. Two teams looking to square off as potential playoff oppositions for each other. The Boston Celtics will host the Indiana Pacers while a double header between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets will play out over both Friday and Saturday.

Boston Celtics vs. Indiana Pacers

Still 1st in the Atlantic division, depending on the Philadelphia 76ers performance against the Detroit Pistons, but that is a 4-3 record up until they face the Indiana Pacers at the TD Garden. They are looking to improve and improve their winning streak to five and all is possible as they face the Pacers. The only thing that the Celtics need to worry about is whether Ray Allen can overcome his injury but then again the return of Paul Pierce has certainly made an impact to the team. He scored his first highest point this season with 24 points against New Jersey and helping the Celtics to a 89-70 win. Raja Rondo has kept consistency in his play and surely one of the key players with assists to his name.

The Pacers are coming off a defeat to the Miami Heat last Wednesday with a 118-83 loss. The Pacers continue to struggle on the road and with two defeats out of three games, they are going to have a tough time against the Celtics. Forward Danny Granger is the key to Pacer’s offense and R. Hibbert averaging 10.0 rebounds per game, both of them are to stand up to the Celtics on-slaught.

Verdict: The Boston Celtics should be able to manage the Pacers at TD Gardens, sure win here.

Orlando Magic vs. Chicago Bulls

Friday will see a match up that could well be a clash between two future playoff participants at the Amway Center. The Orlando Magic are holding on to a 5-2 record and hopefully improve yet again after another victory at home. Considering that they are undefeated at the Amway Center with four games played and winning all four of them. This team is really baring the fruits of both Ryan Anderson and Dwight Howard scoring the points for the Magic. They are coming off a win on Wednesday over the Washington Wizards 103-85 and Howard did a double-double in the twenties in points and rebounding. However this team has really got going as bigger things are expected from Jameer Nelson and Jason Richardson who are still getting back on track.

The Bulls are on a good run and a 6-1 record shows great promise for this team, actually they could be on the way to overrun the Bulls team of 1996/97, who had a 12 wins out of a run of 13 games. First they need to beat the Magic at the Amway to get near that record and with Derrick Rose recovering from a bang to his elbow, things are looking good. An easy 99-83 win on Wednesday night over the Detroit Pistons and still hasn’t made head coach Thibodeau happy, well, maybe on Friday with a win for sure. He could be without Richard Hamilton, who got 14 points vs. the Pistons, who is suffering from a groin injury. The usual suspects of Joakim Noah, Carlos Boozer and Luol Deng will be in the mix and surely play hard on the night.

Verdict: Bulls to continue their winning streak and the magic touch will not be Howard, but Roses.

Oklahoma City Thunders vs. Houston Rockets

Friday and Saturday will see the Houston Rockets take on the Oklahoma City Thunder. Favourites are surely on the home team as they are currently holding a 5-2 record however in the run up to the double header against Houston, they suffered two consecutive defeats. The first game held at Chesapeake Energy Arena looks likely to see a revival of the Thunder after losing 103-93 against the Portland Trailblazers. Both Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook played solidly but failed to impress so the Rockets could be a good calling. The Rockets have not won yet on the road so expecting them to lose on Friday and chances are better on Saturday, however, depending on the Thunder's strength, it will be up to the bench to find the depth, i.e. Nick Collison and Daeguan Cook to do better.

Verdict: Thunder to make big bangs on both Friday and Saturday, so a double header winner for the Oklahoma City Thunder over the Houston Rockets.
