There must be an easier way to retire for Shane Mosley but not without a payday against Manny Pacquiao. Both will step into the MGM Grand Arena on the prime time fight on 7th of May. The winner of this fight could land the ultimate payday of taking on the fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. FINALLY!
Manny Pacquiao vs. Shane Mosley (WBO Welterweight Championship)
The world’s best pound for pound Filipino fighter, Manny Pacquiao will step into the ring to defend his WBO Welterweight Championship against Sugar Shane Mosley on the 7th of May at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. This will the Filipino second defense of his title in America since he won it from Miguel Cotto in 2009.
Let’s go straight to the fact about Manny Pacquiao. Currently one of the best fighter in the world, the Pacman is seizing himself up for the ultimate pay day against Floyd Mayweather Jr. but until then he will have to arm wrestle with the rest of the contenders as Mayweather isn’t biting on the hook yet. Therefore, Pacquiao will have to concentrate his efforts on contenders willing to fight him with the likes of Miguel Cotto and Josh Clottey. The money is raining in as a sold out MGM Arena is calling out for the Filipino names at his prime and yet with eight division world champion, winning ten world titles and being pound for pounder fighter, even he will face the toughest battle of retiring one day. Before that day comes around, Sugar Shane might be Sugar caned by Pacquiao in the ring as the Filipino has the speed, pace and the killer punch to knock his opponents out. The only issue that he will face is complacency as he tends to relax during training when he believes that his opposition is unlikely to test him. For all of you out there, it is the ring that counts and the Pacman always deliever.
Sugar Shane Mosley is no beast but a nice guy as time goes by. The American will walk into the ring as a champion in three weight division and also a former WBA welterweight Super champion. At one point in his career, a serious pay day against Pacquiao was on sought for when Mosley defeated Antonio Margarito back in January 2009. However that didn’t materialized and from there on, it went all down hill for the 39 year old. Since then he drew ugly against Sergio Mora while Floyd Mayweather Jr. won on points, 11 out of 12 rounds, in his last two matches. At 6-1 odds, many will be wondering why Mosley will take on this fight, well it is simple, it is a make or break it match for him, his time is nearly up and a pay day will be the way forward as he isn’t getting younger. Still at 39, Sugar Shane is still superior in size and strengthen against Pacquiao and with that, he could have that outside chance.
This should be a plain and simple match with one outcome in mind. The Pacman looks likely to give Sugar Shane a bit of a hefty check as an early retirement plan after the fight. Somehow this fight could be consider as a mismatch but not on the terms of being paid if all comes to the same conclusion of Pacquiao winning and Shane profiting from the defeat. Even though this is an one sided match, there will be many stars and fans coming out to support their two boxes so open your eyes for Charice singing the Philippines national anthem before the match kicks off.
Prediction:
The Pacman will be the first and only person to dish out a knockout win for Sugar Shane to taste in his retirement.
