The Super 6 Final will see the Super Middleweight titles going on offer to the one winner between British Carl Froch or American Andre Ward. Both boxers aren't just looking for a pay day but to get their name into the history and be remembered one of the best fighters of all time in this category.
Carl Froch vs. Andre Ward
(Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City)
The super six is coming to an end and after 2 years, 10 bouts from the six original fighters, only two will meet in the final boxing ring where Atlantic City will be the venue for this coming Saturday evening. There will be only one winner that will go home with all the six belts on offer and also the Silver cup. This individual will be claiming the ultimate best fight in the super middleweight class.
It’s show time and home favorite, Andre Ward, the WBA Champion, will defend the red, white and blue colours in Atlantic City. Andre likes to fight with different kinds close and personal battles, his array of skills shows that his strong in-fighting such as using his head first could be the key in which many claims that to be dirty. Never the less, disposing Edison Miranda, Allan Green, Mikkel Kessler and Sakio Bika should be already signs where he has being able to change his game plan during the bouts. He might not have taken up opposition that are top of the division though he has earn the right to be in ring as anyone else who has the ability to win.
Englishmen Carl Froch has trying to get all the advantage, he can get before the fight but maybe he doesn’t need to do that. Physically he has a height and reach advantage over Ward and most importantly of all, stamina and condition to go toe to toe with Ward. If that is not enough then psychological Froch is really getting into Ward’s skin, telling him that he will knock him out because he can actually punch. This mental advantage might word outside the boxing ring but surely inside the boxing it is a different story on the night. Froch has the credentials and his fight against Arthur Abraham was one of best performance regaining the WBC super middleweight champion and finishing off Glen Johnson six month ago in Atlantic City on points. These two wins were significant enough for Froch to reach the final match and an injury prevented the Nottingham lad from fighting last October, so therefore the rescheduling of the bout to December will be Froch biggest ever fight to date.
An aging Froch will try to take on a gifted opponent seven years his junior, Andre Ward, who is also an Olympic gold medal champion. These are two best fighters in the group and for what it is worth, the Super 6 will come to an end in the Boardwalk Hall on the 17th December when the WBA, WBC and Ring magazine 168-pound titles is up for the grabs. If someone wins, one can almost take on the assumption that a rematch could be on the talks in the post-match, but pre-match, it’s all Froch talking and Ward defending, but the ring is where the talking should be done.
Verdict:
This will be a physical battle, Froch will try his best to fight Ward on the outside and get him running around. However, Ward won’t be forgiving for everything Froch has said and he will tactical try to get inside of Froch and give a go at it. This will be a tight game and if Froch doesn’t TKO/KO Ward out then the American is likely to win this on points.
