Hannover 96 - Borussia Mönchengladbach

By Joachim, BettingExpert.com | Edited

Matchday 32 sees Hannover 96 and Mönchengladbach collide, the third of the table meets the second last. While most clubs have an easy few last weeks of the season with little to fight for, these two clubs have everything to gain and a lot to lose - just on a very different level.

Hannover 96 - Borussia Mönchengladbach
Now Fromlowitz has more than a red card that keeps him from playing: Young goalkeeping talent Zieler has taken his spot for now.

Hannover 96 did it again: They managed to squeeze by Bayern Munich once more last weekend to claim third place, which is vital to reach the Champions League qualifying stage next season. Bayern Munich were lucky to get a draw against Frankfurt, which means that the Hannover fairytale continues after their splendid away victory against Freiburg last time out. It seems unbelievable that just a year ago the same team just barely survived last season, after the traumatic loss of then national keeper Robert Enke. Yet here they are, still keeping Bayern Munich in check and on a good way to hit it really big next season. In a lot of ways it is even more suprising than Dortmund's bid for the title this season. Sergio Pinto and Didier Ya Konan will be back on Saturday, having sat out their suspensions - both are key players for the team. Lars Stindl however is out due to injury, and will be replaced by Jan Schlaudraff.

It's been quite a week for Borussia Mönchengladbach. After it seemed that all hope was lost for the team during the season, there are only three points left for them to make up in their fight for a relegation spot, which will see the third last of the Bundesliga table take on the third of the Second Bundesliga in an two leg match-up (home and away) for promotion. Lucien Favre only had little time to work with the team, but yet managed to wake them up and believe in themselves again - as could be seen in their stunning 1-0 win against league leaders Borussia Dortmund. Now there is little else to do for the squad but collect as many points as possible and just hope for the best. There is little reason for Lucien Favre to change his squad that win against Dortmund, and so it is very unlikely that he will.

Probable line-ups:

Hannover 96:

Zieler - Cherundolo, Haggui, Pogatetz, Schulz - Schmiedebach, Pinto - Schlaudraff, Rausch - Abdellaoue, Ya Konan

Missing:

Stindl

Borussia Mönchengladbach:

Ter Stegen - Jantschke, Stranzl, Brouwers, Daems - Nordtveit, Neustädter - Herrmann, Arango - Reus, Idrissou

Missing:

Jaurès, Wissing

Verdict:

In Bundesliga history there have been 41 matches between the two teams, with Gladbach having 21 victories while Hannover can only show off twelve. Despite this statistic Hannover after this season are absolute favorites at home to win this match, and rightfully so. For one, Mönchengladbach hasn't managed a win in Hannover for 22 years now, and Mirko Slomka as a coach never lost against them in any match of his career. Despite putting up an impressive fight the guests will have to succumb to the pressure, especially personified by striker Didier Ya Konan.
