leverkusen vs. dortmund

Defending Champions, Dortmund, will travel to second place, Leverkusen, from last season this Saturday for yet another top flight match in the Bundesliga, yet on Sunday Hannover 96 will host Mainz 05 while Bayern will travel to Kaiserlautern looking for the three points.

Kaiserlautern vs. Bayern Munchen

The home team is finding it hard to cope in the Bundesliga leaving themselves only to blame with two draws and one defeat to their opening three games. Two consecutive draws to both FC Augsburg at home and most recently FC Cologne away, things are looking a bit more positive than their season opener defeat to Werder Bremen with 2-0 away. The back four have the stable Rodnei, Leon Jessen and Florian Dick but Martin Amedick was preferred against Koln. The midfielders are relative the anchor of the team, they are the ones making sure that goals are keeping them away from being in the bottom three of the Bundesliga. The strikers are alternating so never who will be partnering each other, but surely Richard Sukuta=Pasu is a firm favorite to start against Bayern.

On the other side of the Bundesliga, Bayern Munchen is holding out on third spot but sharing with six other clubs with 6 points. A good reason that they are a cut above the rest is due to their superior goal difference after last weekend 5-0 drubbing over a poorly fielded Hamburger SV. That win saw Bayern in a scoring frenzy in which by all respect, any player on the Bayern team was really in a chance to get onto the scoring sheet. This will be another chance away from home to do just that, Bayern also did well in the midweek 1-0 away win over FC Zurich and once again Mario Gomez got his scoring boots on. This is definitely making Jupp Heynckes a happy man and at least, he will be sleep a bit better at night knowing that he is competing at the top half of the league. He might be without Arjen Robben as he is doubtful after picking up a groin injury while Olic is out with a hip problem.

The team you are looking at is most likely to be the team that will be after the window transfer closes  as Bayern is unlikely to plunge into the market. Well, there isn’t a big push to do so as the team does seem to be strong enough to compete in both domestically and in Europe, however it all depends on the form, but Heynckes seems confident enough and looks also good for Saturday tie on the road travel to Kaiserlautern.

Verdict: Bayern on form means, goals and more goals, even Kaisers needs to kneel.

Bayer Leverkusen vs. Dortmund

The challenge is only to getting tougher when September comes around as Leverkusen is put into a group with Chelsea, Valencia and Genk in the Champions League. So this weekend when Leverkusen hosts reigning champions, Dortmund, it will be a good test and a pre-warm up what they should be expecting in Europe. Leverkusen has started the season with two wins and one defeat, after the season opening defeat to Mainz, things have changed and two consecutive 1-0 win has given Coach Robin Dutt much confidence that they are able to take any challenge that is infront of them. Against Werder Bremen, Michal Kadlec scored the winner with Michael Ballack back in the line up and against Stuttgart, Simon Rolfes replaced Ballack in the middle and Stefan Kiessling scored the winner. This is what Dutt wants from his squad, diversity, clinical and most of all, tactically inclined to win against their opposition in balancing out the squad’s strengthen. This will surely be tested both the starting eleven and the bench on Saturday.

Pretty much surprised to see Dortmund not leading the Bundesliga but never the less, they are still in the top half of the Bundesliga, side by side with their host with six points. Dortmund also found out that this season will certainly be a long one as they are drawn to play against Arsenal, Marseille and Olympiakos in the Champions League. One area that Dortmund needs to improve is their away form, they lost to Hoffenheim while the home form is very much pleasing to everyone with a 3-1 win over Hamburg and 2-0 win against Nurnberg. Two players that strikes out in the team are both Kevin Grosskreutz with three goals and his partner in crime, Mario Gotze, not far behind with a goal and three assists. Assets to the team while Robert Lewandowski playing that secondary role where he chips in from time to time. News that Gotze is suffering from a minor groin strain will make him doubtful to travel to Leverkusen worries Coach Jurgen Klopp as he is also without Sven Bender. It is most likely Shinji Kagawa will be helping out in this situation.

This is a top match between two title chasers with both teams getting ready to play in the champions league. Dortmund has a bit of a complex when it comes to away games and of course, Leverkusen are not push over either at home. A tough call when both teams are very much on level terms both in form and also in commitment.

Verdict: A draw should be exercise here and no doubt a low scoring game is not impossible

Hannover 96 vs. Mainz 05

Another top match in the Bundesliga and this time Hannover 96 will be seeing Mainz 05 given them a challenge on Sunday. The home team is undefeated with two wins and one defeat, which is certainly surprising to many punters out there to see this team having it rough last season, but doing well this season. Although their most recent game saw them disappoint at home by only manage 1-1 at home against Hertha Berlin. Both domestically and European, Hannover has only managed to keep a clean sheet, surprising against Dortmund, so defensively there is a bit to do, but then again, the scoring part has been consistent so no worries about Hannover scoring on Sunday.

Mainz 05 suffered a heartfelt defeat last weekend to Schalke 04 after going up 2-0, but lost 4-2 in the end. That ended Mainz winning streak and put them back not to earth and now needing to travel to Hannover for another testing tides. They will need to be more weary with their play during the 2nd half as they seem to be able to switch off or more of a black out in terms of defending. This could be that they haven’t felt the pressure of going behind all season. Their character showed that they have still some way mentality to challenge for the title. However if this can be overturned then the tip to Hanover will be a good start.

Veridct: Due to the good form and undefeated mentality, Hannover looks like to get the three points
