Bolivia National Football Team Copa America

Bolivia is considered the underdog in this tournament. There is not much to say about the national football team of Bolivia except that they do not have any well known players and only few of them play in the international arena. The minimal exposure in the international level of most of the players is what perhaps makes them the weakest team in CONMEBOL 2011. However, having said that, they have already won the title in 1963 when they were the host the South American Championship where it is now known as the Copa America. Since the tournament’s name had changed, they have not gone passed the first round except when they once again hosted in 1995 were they were in the quarter finals and then in 1997. That year when they were the host nation, La Verde managed to be in the final again but was unsuccessful in their quest when they faced the mighty Brazilian team, resulting in a 1-3 defeat. Headcoach Gustavo Quinteros was part of the National team for 6 years and knows how it is to be the underdog in the tournament. With the help of his captain Ronald Raldes, La Verde will be hoping to at least pass and end their round one statistic.
