Peru 2011 Copa America

Since winning the Copa America in 1975, Peru’s best result is reaching the quarter-final three times. The Peruvian are set to change this with their head coach Sergio Markarian but then, they are plague with injuries ahead of the game in Argentina. Captain and centre forward Clacudo Pizarro is already ruled out,  Juan Manuel Vargas is hoping to be fit while Juan Vargas is on recovery ahead of the game, as if this is not enough, Jefferson Farfan is the latest casualty after he hurting his thigh muscle in a practice session one week before the tournament starts. Having these setback on his plate, manager Markarian, a former boss of Paraguay, knows more to be taken aback by La Blanquirroja recent fate of the squad. He’s setting his eyes farther that he made it known to use this event as a platform to build his team for the next World Cup 2014 but nonetheless, he is still optimistic to give his best for his squad to show a good and competitive performance and somehow be able to go as far as the group stage of the 2011 Copa America in Argentina.
