Venezuela 2011 Copa America

Venezuela’s international record does not show any promising result, they lack success in the International stage level. Perhaps due to the reason that they are more into baseball and see football just a secondary game they are not only lacking in support but also talents in the sport. However, having said this, its popularity is gradually increasing that they have been given an incentives to increase player development and to promote football in increasing support from the Venezuelan. La Vinotinto’s World Cup record shows that since joining, they have never been qualified and appeared in the final but on the positive note, under the direction of head coach Cesar Farias, Venezuela came 8th place in the South American World qualifier for South Africa last year. This could also be said when it comes to their Copa America, they have a pretty poor record here too. Their best result here was when they first participated in 1967, they finished fifth. They are currently second in the CONMEBOL ranking, not the top but at the bottom part of the standing. They are the only team that has never reached the quarter-final and have the lowest score performance in the South American squad. Coach Cesar Farias is hoping to be the man to change their spell in Copa America with a more positive outcome with the help of Captain Juan Arango who is highly respected in the team and in 1. Bundesliga for Borussia Monchengladbach.
