Brazil Pato

The Brazilian stars are coming out in force for the Copa America. Neymar and Pato are the ones to watch in Group B where they will be taking on Venezuela in the first game while Paraguay will take on Ecaudor in the other game in the group. Samba back on the map?

Brazil vs. Venezuela

Tournament favourites, Brazil, will start their Copa America in Group by taking on weary Venezuela. The first game will always have the jitterbugs on the leg and especially when they are facing teams that might not have the same expectation like theirs. Brazil coach Mano Menezes, who took over  the legendary Dunga, will take on his first task in getting the team into the Copa America final. His teams have radically changed it’s staff after only seeing four players suriving from the 2010 World Cup squad. Captain Lucio, Julio Cesar, Robinho and Elano are the old guards of the team while promising striker Neymar, Fred, Elias, Sandro and Lucas will be emerging stars of the Brazilian squad. Out of the whole lot, hopes will rest assure on Pato’s shoulders that is if he get over his injury in time to play against Venezuela. The Brazilian team is well balanced and chances are they will be going the right way if they were to win their first game. Brazil’s run up to the Copa America saw two warm up games played in June, they drew with Holland 0-0 and Fred scoring the only goal in the 1-0 win over Romania.

Venezuela are no pushovers and they have demonstrated that in their recent years of good results. They go into their first game in the Copa America will high hopes and expecting to qualify into the next round. They have quality players coming through European clubs who boost with Europa League and Champions league experience. This is a team that is on the raise and with further youngest coming through the ranks, the Copa America will be testing their strength as a whole. Venezuela has solidified their defence and now it’s time for them to attack and what better to test it against one of the best attacking offensive team in the world. The element of surprise could be on the card and never in doubt that this team could see better days ahead.

Paraguay vs. Ecuador

The intentions are good going into the Copa America with hopes to win the title since 1979. Both striker Santa Cruz and Coach Gerardo Martino are positive in their impact in this tournament and a win over Ecuador. Paraguay might get a bit fruitful again if Larissa Riquelme was to show off her asset for her home country but back to the football, both strikers Santa Cruz and Lucas Barrios are the ones to shoot Paraguay into the quarterfinals. Captain Justo Villar will be keeping the goal tidy while little known Marcelo Estigarribia is one to watch in the Paraguayan squad. To win the Copa America will take some luck but against Ecuador shouldn’t be a problem for the three points.

Expectations are not high on Ecuador to find much luck at the Copa America. They are branded as the weakest team of the four teams in Group B and finishing anything second in this group will be an achievement. Their solid 4-4-2 formation will be deployed to hold off the attacks from the other teams and Coach Rueda is known for his tactics to get the least draw then incurring a lost. This is no easy group for Ecuador, so a good show of form and playing spirits would be the key to their achievement. Their star player is surely Norberto Araujo to find his stride at the tournament.
