FCK nordsjaelland

Parken will be hosting the Danish Champions, F.C. København as they take on FC Nordsjælland on Saturday, both FCK and OB have a midweek champions league to contend to so Saturday will be their round 3 fixture. Other Copenhagen teams, Lyngby will take on HB Køge on Sunday while top match between Brøndby IF and AC Horsens is also arranged for a late kickoff

AGF vs. OB (Saturday 17:00 CET)

The home side will be taking on one of the top sides in the Superligaen, OB, and winner of this match will top of the Danish league. By AGF standards, the club has made a remarkable start to the season with three points in 7th place with 3 points after winning one and losing one game. Their experience squad is based on Soren Berg, Jerry Lucena and Peter Gralund who will be able to lead the team to a rare home win since after eight tries, AGF only registered one win in 2008. Jens Gjesing has been loaned out.

Champions League midweek must have taken a bit of air out off OB. They drew 1-1 with Panathinaikos last Wednesday in which they struggled after going behind in the second half and only equalized in the last minute of the game through T. Reginiussen. This will be testing times for OB as Danish teams are not used to playing an extra game in the midweek and with that in mind, fatigue could have a run in on this occasion. This would be suited for a draw rather than the undefeated mode that OB is trying to carry.

F.C. København vs. FC Nordsjælland (Saturday 19:00 CET)

The other Champions League that will be in need to play their game on Saturday as the Danish champions will have to travel to Ireland this coming midweek with a 1-0 advantage after Wednesday first leg win. The only omission to the home match against FC Nordsjælland is Johnny Thomsen who was not picked to join the squad. Although there might be a return for Dame N’Doye as one of the main strikers to partner Cesar Santin but that will remains to be seen. Striker Morten Nordstand could also get a chance to face his former club. Johan Absalonsen saw a few bright moments on the left hand side of the midfield and there is a strong case where Solvi Ottesen might get the nod this weekend.

The side that won the other domestic cup medals last season, FC Nordsjælland will be mounting the challenge to get the three points in Parken. There aren’t many positives that can be said about FC Nordsjælland in which they started the season with one defeat and one draw. Their recent form hasn’t been prolific and after witnessing their draw in their last game, there isn’t much that will give the away side the chance to win. Their weakness was evident in the defense and much of the building up plays in tempo that can’t go up against Copenhagen.

Lyngby - HB Køge (Sunday 16:00 CET)

The two bottom teams of the Danish Superliagen, both with no points and with not much of a positive to go forward on, this game will be vital for both to get some points on their account. For the home side, Lyngby was frustrated once again by losing the game by one goal and already lost in their first home game so in their second home game, they will be hoping for some better fortune. Their opposition, HB Køge, looks likely to be the bogus team in the Danish Superliga. They came near to getting their first points in the last weekend’s 3-2 home defeat. One thing for sure is that this game will be full of goals.

Brøndby IF - AC Horsens (Sunday 17:00 CET)

Still undefeated and still within the top bracket amongst the Danish league, it is both Brøndby IF and AC Horsens that are looking to find better days at the top half of the league. The home side opened their three points in the last weekend 1-0 away win over Silkeborg, although it seems like Brøndby IF is on their way back, they will have to prove it infront of their own fans as the last outing saw them drew 2-2 after leading 1-0. Their opposition are leading the Danish league with a better goal difference with 4 points and the reason is simple, good going forward while solid while defending. This is a must if you willing taking on the mission to get points at Brøndby stadion. Contributing to the fact, a draw could be exercise here.
