Time are rough for Michael Krohn-Dehl and Brøndby IF as they are unable to pull themselves out from the bottom half of the league table. They will get a chance this weekend when they face Sønderjyske this Sunday, while both OB and F.C. København are in action on Saturday.

Aab vs. OB

A real challenge for Aab as the real test against OB is coming into town this Saturday to Aalborg stadion. Both sides are undefeated with two wins and two draws, so identical on points but not on goal difference as OB has scored 4 goals more in this current campaign. The one difference that Aab will feel is that they are up against a team that is about to go into one of their biggest game in history, OB is about to enter the Champions League group stage in a two legged game starting this midweek. With that in mind, it will be Aab that takes the advantage of not having that burden of a midweek game but solely concentrate on the three points to be gained this weekend. Aab are solid in the back and disciplined in the midfield but they haven’t really played against a top that is in good form, so weary of this challenge that they are about to take on.

OB has already demonstrated that they are playing amongst the top boys in the Danish League. They’ve already drew to the defending champions away and beat their rivals for second place,  Brøndby IF, at home last weekend. They also took matters into hand by eliminating Panathinaikos from Champions League so the adventure lives on. What more is that they know that the financial gains are immense and if they are able to force their way into the history books then the club could challenge F.C. København in the long run. However it makes one thing that they need to do, domestically, that is to win their games and whether they are home or away, a game like this against Aab has to result in gaining at least a point at the end of the 90 minutes.

Prediction:  A draw as OB will have their midweek game at the back of their minds.

F.C. København vs. FC Midtjylland

Saturday will see the league leaders and the defending Danish champions host FC Midtjylland at Parken. Many looked forward to that this game was a top match but FC Midtjylland just hasn’t found their form yet.  The home team is the only team in the Superligaen that has harvest three wins out of four games, still undefeated. They travelled last weekend to bottom team HB Køge and came away with a 4-2 win. N. Doye getting back to scoring form and also played without Solvi Ottesen and Johnny Thomsen. Both are set to return this weekend to give way for those who are in a need for rest before the crucial game for the midweek Champions League.

The visitors might just benefit from the situation in which they know the opposition might be willing to put out a weaker team that expected. FC Midtjylland is currently place 6th in the league with six points in their account, that is from 2 wins and 2 defeats. Their 2-1 win last weekend has brought forward the optimism that they once had during the pre-season. The game was very much over in the first half when FC Midtjylland showed their strongest strengthen, teamwork and agile, and got that two goals to put away the game. Striker Tim Janssen opened his account, but also missed a lot of chances too, and he will be on lurking for goals when he faces F.C. København in the capital.

Predictions: Home win but a marginal one.

Brøndby IF vs. Sønderjyske

A tradition club in crisis and turmoil is something that they are not stranger to, as they have been in this position just a few seasons ago. Brøndby IF might not have the luck on their side but there are deeper issues for the home side going into the game against Sønderjyske. Currently habouring 9th place, a win for the home side is very much anticipated from the board, players and fans. They will have to do without Andreas Randrup, who was sent off against 2-1 defeat to OB last weekend, and go out there with a winning mentality. If they want to win then Coach Henrik Jensen will need to motivate his team in a position where they believe in themselves and able to find the net as early as possible in the game.

Sønderjyske has definitely made an impression after four games. They are currently in 5th place with 7 points. They are only three points behind the league leaders so there isn’t much to complain about on that front. Their 3-1 win from last weekend over AGF showed that they are on par only after going behind 1-0 to win 3-1 with a great display in the second half. There is still a doubt over Tommy Bechmann’s fitness to face Brøndby IF as he was not available against AGF. If Sønderjyske can continue their winning form then coming away with a point against Brøndby IF isn’t that far fetch.

Predictions: Home win or else the crisis will turn into riots.

FC Nordsjælland vs. HB Køge

Sunday battle royal for the foot of the table and it is HB Køge who is still yet to open their account in the Superligaen. The home side might not have started the season well but with the 2-1 home win last weekend against Silkeborg, things are looking brighter. They are 10th in the league and tied with three other clubs at 4 points.  FC Nordsjælland came from behind to claim victory and that shows a lot of character in this team in which Nicolai Stokholm is showing the way to get out of the relegation dog fight. The opposition saw a glimmer of hope last weekend 4-2 home defeat to the reigning champion, HB Køge can certainly score goals but lacking discipline when defending. They were close to get pull back but lost their way in searching for it.

Prediction: HB Køge will get their first point, a draw between the two.
