Czech Republic vs. Liechtenstein

The title of this said it all, Czech Republic took the lead against Spain after 29th minute superb individual goal from Jarolslav Plasil in Granada but the Czechs were made to pay for their mistakes in the 2nd half by defaulting two goals over a four minute period. Their concentrate level dropped and Spain capitalized the situation and send the Czech packing and dropping further away from the Group I leaders. Therefore against Liechtenstein at home, the Czech should surely pick up the three points and keep their Euro 2012 alive by keeping the 2nd place in the group and go head to head better than the other 2’ers in this competitions. Short preview but surely one that most people would agree the Czechs should be able to pick up a win without much trouble, this game has a 16:30 kickoff.

Netherlands vs. Hungary

If you are wondering whether this is a déjà vu moment, then you eyes are not deceiving you here as these two teams only met just four days ago at the Ferenc Puskas Stadium in Budapest. This isn’t the playoffs but just another game in the European Qualfying in Group G. The Dutch were impressive in Budapest, registering four goals against Hungary in which the Oranje were immensely impressive and dominate the game from start to finish. Rafael Van Der Vaart, Ibrahim Afellay, Dirk Kuyt and Robin Van Persie ensured that Holland bridge the gap between their nearest rivals both Hungary and Sweden.

So what will happen to the game at Amsterdam Arena, as expected the Netherlands might not be putting out the same eleven who started in Budapest and surely a few other players will get the green lights. Van Bommel, Janssen and Robben are already out of the Dutch squad and  players like Elia, Van Nistelrooy, Boulahrouz and Strootman could get the call to start on Tuesday. The Dutch will surely wan to cement their qualification for next summer Euro 2012 and only win here won’t be surprising and surely has to be in style when their home fans are watching on.

The Hungarian were not able to contain the flair players like Sneijder, Van der Vaart and from Ibrahim Afelley when it came to defending. So don’t expect much of a fight from the away team but still they will do better from their home game. One thing that would surely not happen is to see a repeat of pitch invaders in the dying seconds of the football and taking the focus off the brilliant display from the Dutch, one that the Dutch fans would clearly not do at home.

Northern Ireland vs. Slovenia

Group C will be tight when it comes to the fight for the second place and both Northern Ireland and Slovenia could still grab that spot as they contest it with both Estonia and Serbia too. The Northern Ireland’s hopes of qualifying for Euro 2012 suffered a setback as they lost 2-1 away to Serbia last Friday. That game was played behind closed doors sanctioned by FIFA after the following massive crowd troubles when Serbia took on Italy last year, only 240 people watched on and Northern Ireland wasn’t able to take the advantage from that. Northern Ireland manager Nigel Worthington had a few youngster amongst the team and considering they took the lead with Chris Brunt’s goal, they look better than ever before.

Slovenia did not get what they wanted when they hosted Italy on Friday as they lost 1-0 in front of their home fans. The Italians also took their first ever win on Slovenian soil and the Euro 2012 automatic spot look a bit more distance  after the game than before going into it. An away win could give them some hope as they are defending the second place leveled with Serbia and with a better goal difference. The Slovenian team looked discipline and work well together when they have the ball, it is when they don’t have the ball they get a bit a edgy and that is something they can’t repeat at Windsor Park.

A defeat could put either team in the dark when it comes to the fight of the second place. There is only two points between the four teams and also between the two teams taking on each other, in which in fairness Northern Ireland has a game played less. Nigel Worthington will fancy his chances and usually it will be a strong Northern Ireland home side that could do the trick as their home fans will spur them on.
