The Danish outfit, FC Copenhagen, are in need of all three points if they want to make sure that they will be part of the mix when we are talking about the last 32. First they will have to beat Hannover 96 while Lazio and FC Zurich are to fight it out who will have a say in their group for the second place.

FC Copenhagen vs. Hannover 96 (Group B)

The Danish champions have not looked back since they stole a point at Hannover a fortnight ago. Ever since that stolen point on German soil, the Danish champions lost at home 3-1 to Nordsjaelland but bounced back with a 3-0 win over rivals, Brondby in the Cup and also beating 3-1 away over OB with Cesar Santin hitting two goals. The momentum is back with Copenhagen and they are surely happy to take on Hannover 96 this midweek as morale is high. It is likely that a 4-4-2 formation will be used on the night and with N. Doye and in form Santin. Copenhagen are just a point behind both Standard Liege and Hannover 96 and a win here will give them a good chance for a spot in the next round. They are unbeaten in 8 games in Parken and this should be an intense evening for the Lions.

The German outfit has the players and also has what it takes to beat the Danes. A moment is what it takes to spoil the fun and that is what Hannover needs to be wary of. Both goals in Matchday 3 saw a lack of concentration brought three vital points lost and if you think what happen after that game, Hannover went and beat Bayern at home. However, having said that, they returned to their old self and lost 1-0 at home to Mainz and lost 2-1 away to Monchengladbach last weekend. This could spell trouble for the German side if they didn’t learn from their last mistakes and if that happens, they would lose their unbeaten run in the Europa League this season.

Verdict: A tough night for both and point looks like the Danes to prevail.

Lazio vs. FC Zurich (Group D)

Three teams fighting for one qualifying spot in Group D and both teams, Lazio and Zurich will have another shot to get the commanding lead taken the second spot. Sporting has already secured a spot in the next round so that leave FC Vaslui to also fight it out with both Lazio and Zurich. Matchday 3 saw these two teams drew 1-1 in their first ever meeting in any competitions and both goals came within minutes of each goal. Zurich took the lead with Adrian Nikci getting the goal after Lazio took the lead with Giuseppe Sculli opening the score.

The Italian outfit might not have had their best eleven in Switzerland a fortnight ago but this time they should be able to muster up a stronger lineup this Thursday, that is if they want to progress any further in this competition. This goes also for Zurich and not that they didn’t put forward a strong team two weeks ago, they now have to come up another strong performance to overcome the Italians dominance. That is because Lazio beat Cagliari 3-0 away on the Sunday evening televised match and with that in sight, Lulic, Klose and Rocchi getting the goals. Zurich needs to bring their best and by judging their weekend 1-1 draw at home to Lucerne, this could be a short coming itself.

Verdict: Lazio to pick all three points and put Zurich out of Europa reach.
