Just when you are looking for one El Clasico, another three will be coming shortly and all of them have rewards at the end, which makes the 2nd edition of the El Clasico, between Real Madrid and Barcelona very important in the La Liga. Madrid made a Real howler last time they met but they won't be doing that again at the capital.
Real Madrid vs. Barcelona
The El Clasico will play the part of being the second edition in the La Liga but also a prelude to the two legged tie for the upcoming Champions League semi-final match up in the European scenes and also in the Copa Del Rey Final. A staggering five encounter this season and Barcalona isone up in the score as they took a 5-0 demolishing earlier on the season at Nou Camp in the Primera Division
As all of Spain gears up for the El Clasico, Real Madrid might is pressured to win this game in order to gap that 8 points which Barcelona have already gained. Real have had some poor results both home and away in the past so that has really dent their chances to overcome their fiercest rivals. However with the likes of Cristano Ronaldo, Kaka and Gonzalo Higuain returning the side, manager Jose Mourinho is able to call upon the players he needs to win games and that was shown against Tottenham Hotspurs in two legs and last weekend 3-0 win away over Athletic Bilbao. The midweek 1-0 win over Spurs did see some weakness in the Real side, they have a tendency to defend in a relaxed mode and when they are pressured, they make mistakes or do long ball up to Adebayor. This can’t be the tactic that the Mourinho will hang on to so expect a tighter and more discipline back four.
Barcelona is in the leading seat when it comes to all three trophies that they are about to address against Real Madrid on Saturday evening. As mentioned, 8 points is the difference so keeping that 8 points at the end of the evening wouldn’t be a huge negative point. Manager Pepe Guardiola kept a respectful side in the 1-0 away win against Shakhtar Donestsk, he left Milito and Maxwell on the bench also with Pedro. Midfielder Javier Mascherano, Keita, Xavi along with Lionel Messi and David Villa started and surely will be used this Saturday. Andreas Iniesta was no where to be seen so he will be kept fresh in the travel to the Spanish capital. As a rule, the home side will attack and with a formidable passing style, Barca won’t be letting Real Madrid dominate the game, counter attacking isn’t something that Barca are well in truly want to be doing all night so it will be up to the midfielder to set the scene. Borjan will not be available for selection.
Both teams had a midweek win and travelled back to Spain in high spirits, both knows what is on stake and a win here for Barca would surely end the Real threat of a La Liga championship. This isn’t a game that Real can afford to lose and after the 5-0 defeat, the capital club fans are looking for some kind of revenge and humiliating display on the Catalan club. Madrid to equal things out.
Almeria vs. Valencia
Bottom club Almeria are desperate from the three points but it is truly over for them to even comprehend that they will getting out of the relegation battle without needing to be relegated. They are current four points from their nearest rival and 7 points above the relegation line and that does not spell any good fortune as only 7 games to go. Last weekend, Almeria saw themselves in a bit of a rot after being left soaking up the 3-1 away defeat to reigning champion, Barcelona, but to their credit, they did take the lead through Miguel Angel Corona. If they can show that determination and not crumble after going in front then Valencia should be tested in every front.
Valencia travels to the Almeria with a good eye to take third place in the La Liga as they took a giant step last weekend in securing themselves a champions league spot for next season. The 5-0 win over rivalry, Villarreal looked so simple and easy with Roberto Soldado and Juan Mata hitting double goals with Ever Banega joining them in the score sheet. If there was something to take notice from Valencia then Roberto Soldado is definitely creating headlines, scoring four goals the week before, he continues with two against Villarreal and against Almeria, well, one can predict that he will get at least one. This should be some routine win for Valencia and with two consecutive wins, Valencia should be able to continue the good form.
