milan bossThe only way forward is to attack and that is what AC Milan has to do against Sampdoria on Saturday and that is also what Napoli is planning to do too against Udinese on Sunday evening. However Lazio might be the team in the top half of the Serie A that might not find a way to the net this weekend.

AC Milan vs. Sampdoria

Back at the Stadio Meazza where Milan stumble a few times already this season, they will take on Sampdorira in which both teams can’t afford to drop any points in their own quest. Three points above rivals, Napoli is turning this lead into grudge match between the two and surely that has affected the players too, like striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who returned last weekend in the 2-1 win at Fiorentina but saw him getting sent off for the second time this season. So with his absence, Allegri will be able to deploy his Brazilian frontmen Patio and Robinho, while Kevin-Prince Boateng sitting comfortably under them. If there was one player eager to play on Saturday then it would be Antonio Cassano. He left his former team in bitterness and also with much dispute, he returns to the Milan side after suspension and surely want that chance to put Sampdoria into more misery as they did to him Allegri will be without Ambrosini, Bonera, Jankulovski and Inzaghi, all injured

Sampdoria is in danger and just a point above the relegation zone, it would be the time to pray in getting a result or going down is the only route. Their run up to the Saturday evening game has been a poor one, one that will certainly see no hope for Sampdora as they are two points from seven games. The club is in turmoil and a defeat here would put them further in doubt about the future and also clashing with their fans. Coach Alberto Cacasin will be without Daniele Mannini while Franco Semioli and Stefano Lucchini are doubtful. The last time Sampdoria tasted victory was back in February and that is something they badly need.

Believe it or not, what comes around goes around and Antonio Cassano will come back to haunt, whether he starts or gets to be a sub. The poor form of Sampdoria speaks for itself so it all for the taking for the  Milan team. This should be a win for the home team.

Catania vs. Lazio

The home side is a bit better off each week knowing that they are above the relegation zone but still not far enough to say they are safe. Their 1-1 draw against Bari last weekend put them firmly in 14th place and five points clear from the drop zone. They have some tough upcoming opponents and Lazio is the first of the kind as Catania are to face four top half teams that is gunning for the champions league fourth spot in the Serie A. That shouldn’t stop Catania from giving Lazio a stern test as they have won their last four games. Coach Diego Simeone will have a few players in doubt as Bellusci, Llama and Sciacca are fifty fifty to start, while both Marinao Izco and Marco Biagianti could start from the bench.

Lazio is sitting nicely on the fourth spot that will give access to the champions league and all thanks a 2-0 home win over Parma last weekend. The team have been preparing themselves not by doing well on the pitch but off the pitch bonding to give it an extra push as the season finale alooms. What more is that Lazio can count on once again with Stefano Mauri and Hernanes, both are key to the finishing in a high this season, however Lazio will be without Modibo Diakite and Matuzalem who is suspended.

A draw would suit the situation but of course knowing that Lazio has never won in the Serie A at the Stadio Angelo Massimino. That suggest, of course, that the home side could yet continue their good home record and since they have a good history against Lazio at home, Catania has the upper hand.

Napoli vs. Udinese

Napoli is wrestling hard to keep up with Milan at the top and with three points between them, the southern team needs to win to keep up. This Sunday evening fixture is all about the top spots in the Serie A, Napoli needs this and they are very much still in the dream of lifting the scudetto. They are certainly on a good run, they beat Parma last weekend with 2-0 without Edinson Cavani and as he returns this weekend, it could just go better putting Udinese out of the champions league contention. Last year saw a bored 0-0 draw between the two and this year will be the opposite, as goals is flourishing from both sides.

Udinese came off last weekend with a poor feat and dip in the confidence. After experiencing an undefeated state of mind, in a space of two weeks, they found themselves losing two consecutive games to both Lecce and Roma. A further blow to their starting eleven is that Antonio Di Natale has been feeling his recurring ankle injury and Alexis Sanchez is also ruled out to travel to Napoli. That means Udinese wil have to deploy a new duo upfront and it could well be Bernardo Corradii and Denis to lead the Francesco Guidolin’s goal in catching Lazio at the top. Things are just getting worse and worse for the away team.

Again Napoli faces another test to see whether they are able to continue their consistent approach in keeping up with league leaders. They are in a good position in which they goals and form on their side. This might not be the most fierced Napoli side ever but the spirit and confidence are at a high and definitely good enough for three points here.
