Seria A - Week 31

Milan vs. InterA lot is riding on the game between Milan and Inter on Saturday evening, where the Scudetto could land this season will certainly be in Milano, but will it be red/black or blue/black. Elsewhere, Roma takes on Juventus and Parma hosts Bari.

Milan vs. Inter

The Derby della Madonnina will give us some answer at the end of the 90 minutes, it could spell out whether Milan could get one over their most fierce rivals in the Serie A, former player and manager for Milan will step into the frame of managing Inter Milan and also maybe finding a Scudetto winner at the end of the night. This must be one of the turning points this season for teams or even maybe an era.

Milan have been leading the tables since before the winter break and they have suffered a few set backs already this season. Going out of the Champions League and also drawing a few games have given Inter Milan the chance to get back into the Scudetto run. Coach Massimilano Allegri won’t have the luxury of picking Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who scored the game winner last time they met on penalty, but Robinho and Pato is fit to take the striking role. Cassano could get the nod once again but that might be highly unlikely as the way they were defeated 1-0 by Palmero a fortnight ago. The midfeld will consist of Gattuso, Seedorf, Flamini, Van Bommel or Kevin-Prince Boateng. The stakes are high and Milan could win here and take them five points away.

This is technically an away game for Inter Milan and that means there will be outnumbered at the San Siro on Saturday evening. Curve Noord will be in high spirits knowing that their manager Leonardo has switch sides and planning to snatch the Scudetto from their rival. It won’t be pretty on the night but Inter is hopeful to continue to regain position at the top of the Italian football. From the Mourinho era to the current time of Leonadro, the Brazilian could do that one thing that he couldn’t do at Milan, winning the Scudetto as a manager but he might be without Christian Chivu but maybe Milito could return. The Nerazzurri could possible turn their season right here on Saturday evening.

One thing that everyone should bear in mind, Milan is heavily reliant on Zlatan Ibrahimovic when it comes to winning games. Now that he is suspended, Inter might have one less issue to worry about and the Derby della Madonnina will determine the loser will get nothing this year.

Parma vs. Bari

It’s all about the Scudetto for some but not for Parma and Bari who are both in the opposite ends of the Serie A. Survival is the key and Parma is more than happy to compile with that and only a win will continue their good form. Parma managed to bounce back from a defeat to Napoli by beating fellow strugglers Sampdoria with a 1-0 away win. Team Gialloblu will need some Italian blood to spur their survival but they will have to do without Italian international player, Sebasitan Giovinco as he is suspended and Blerim Dzemaili, Danielle Galloppa and Granceseco Valiani as they are all out with injury. Coach Pasquale Marino will take the fight up to Bari with just enough ammunition to collect all three points.

Bari are bound to go down but surely they won’t be heading down with a fight. They are currently at the foot of table with only 17 points and being 9 points away from their nearest rivals, things are looking bleak and more desperate. There aren’t many games left and if Bari was to stay up then they will have to win all of their games and hope their fellow strugglers to be worse off. Coach Bortolo Mutti will have a good health team to choose from, however if with all players fit for fighting, are they capable in getting points?

Last season, Parma beat Bari 2-0 and that should give an indication in where this match up will be heading. Bari are lost and go down is just imminent and Parma could be the one that pushes them into the gutter when they are already down.

Roma vs. Juventus

The Scudetto might be long gone but there is still a champions league spot to fight for and nothing else will do it for Roma unless they get back on track with a win. They are currently 6th in the Serie A with 12 points away from AC Milan but only six points away from a fourth spot, which many might know that in 2012/13 Italy will get three teams, and that the goal Roma must be thinking off day in and day out. However that is on the pitch, off the pitch, Roma has finally complete the takeover of their club by New England Sports Ventures partner Thomas DiBenedetto. The Sensi Family sold their shares in which the UniCredit still owns 40% of Roma while DiBenedetto takes 60%, having said all of that, agreement is in place but the signature is expected in the next 20 days. Roma can at least concentrate on their goal to get that vital spot for next year’s champions league without the service of Brazilian Adriano.

The Old Lady are in a poor position if we are talking about the same goal that Roma is up against. They travel to the capital and face Roma at the Stadio Olimpico in the Sunday evening which the match will commence at 19:45 CET. Juventus will be rebuilding for next season and they will have to do it in a quick rate if they want to get the most of it. Juve’s legend, Del Piero announced that he won’t be retiring and also links to Marcello Lippi are surfacing from day to day. If that is not enough, the amount of players linked to Juventus are never ending with Giuseppe Rossi fronting the bill while unrest of current players wanting to move like Aquilani returning to Liverpool in the summer. Everything is in the air for Juventus and the end of the season can’t be forthcoming. Defender Giorgio Chiellini will be sidelined for a month.

Nobody would have thought that both Roma and Juventus will be suffering in a place for a top spot in the Serie A. Both teams are well knowing to play in the most presitigous Euoprean competition but next season participation will have to fall on what they do by the end of the this season. Roma are in a far better condition that their visitors and maybe that could be just the key to get all three points here.
