Red Bull and Ferrari

Are the tides changing between the Red Bull and Ferrari? Fernando Alonso always come well in the later stages of the season and maybe he is peaking early that usual and if that is the case, the F1 season might not be the Red Bull as predicted.

2011 Formula 1 Grosser Preis Santander Von Deutschland (Nurburgring)

The German circuit will interchange between Nurburgring and Hockenheimring, since it’s the odd number year, we’ll be heading toward the 10th F1 race this season to Nurburgring. The setting is simple, the Red Bulls need do better if they want to win races once again but they aren’t losing sleep over the other cars getting that limelight for one or two races, so Germany will serve some excitement if Red Bull was left wanting once again. Nurburgring will see the F1 cars on track from the 22bd July to the race day on 24th July. This circuit featured last in 2009.

The race circuit is 5.148km with the race distance at 308.863km. All drivers’ will need to complete 67 laps to be crowned as champion of the circuit and Michael Schumacher holds the record of the lap time of 1:29.458 still stands since 2004.

Hot under heels

Think everyone is looking for yet another winner besides the good old Red Bull Vettel dominating streak. It’s not surprising to see the Red Bull team at each other too after listening in the radio to maintain the gap between Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel, basically asking Webber not to try to overtake the Red Bull priority man, in the last five laps of the race at Silverstone. Despite all that drama, Mark Webber is chewing on a new contract that could be offered to him for being Red Bull number 2 for the next four years.

Talking about Silverstone, the British GP didn’t come good for both MacLarens Jensen Button and Lewis Hamilton but for Ferrari, Fernando Alonso found himself winning Silverstone and opening account for the Italian maestro. The Spaniard’s victory is seen as a renewed confidence as he bids to overhaul the runaway leader for the championship title. The Ferrari has improved and that is evident in their last few races and maybe the Red Bull might need some adjusting due to their exhaust gas to enhanced downforce.

The MacLarens knows how much this circuit means to history and prestigious there are to handle. They are pushing for changes, pushing for a better car and pushing for a more competitive car. They have to be optimistic going into the Nurburgring or else, a podium finish as a minimum requirement might be a distance self to the Ferrari and Red Bull.

Young guns

Paul Di Resta and Sergio Perez are surely in the limelight for the future. Both drivers are yet to experience podium finish but they are really showing they have qualities that might flourish if they have a better car.

Finishing the race

One important factor that could play a big part in the Nurburgring is the weather. Rain will be an obstacle for a few but surely the predictable winners might not get the front runner for things to happen. Vettel is surely on song for the pole position which he was in Hockenheimring last year, but of course, Alonso is really making a statement and if his teammate Felipe Massa can muster the same challenge, the Ferraris could well be near top form that the Red Bull’s are currently experiencing. Vettel is favorites but that 14-mile run could suit the Ferrari.
