The Feud between Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton continues on to Budapest and both drivers are looking to bridge the gap to the Red Bull leader, Vettel, at the top. The Hungaroring circuit is good enough for yet another round of top tacing with McLarens, Red Bull and Ferrari.
Formula One Eni Magyar Nagydij - Budapest
The mount is building and the challenge is a great one for the Red Bulls. The leader is being hounded and with the amount of firepower from McLarens and Ferrari, the challenge has just begun. The Hungary grand prix will be held from the 29th to the 31st of July where a race winner is bound to get the momentum. Three different cars are in the frame to take Budapest with a storm but which will triumph?
The Hungaroring circuit will see all drivers do 70 laps in the 4.381 km circuit length while the race distance is 306.630km. The lap record was set by Michael Schumacher in 2004 and he holds it at 1:19.071. Race day is on 31st of July and Mark Webber will return to defend his win back in 2010.
Title Challenge
The time is ticking but not really at the end for the F1 season. Many would have thought that season was over when Sebastian Vettel had a huge lead from the other opposition but now it has being cut yet again after last weekend’s German grand prix. This time around, it was McLarens would found podium with Lewis Hamilton finding that extra potion to finish above both Ferrari Fernando Alonso and Red Bull Mark Webber. Team mate Jensen Button wasn’t that lucky as he retired just after 35 laps.
Even Hamilton was surprised with his performance and most importantly the Mercedes engine outperformed the rest, even the Red Bull and held the Ferraris back. Hamilton started second in the grid but winning not just in style but also managed to find perfection along the way. One reason that might have also given way for Hamilton is the tyres lasting so long with a heavy fuel load. This winning method will be tested once again and Hungaroring will be expecting a fight for till the finish.
Deter Red Bull
Biggest question was where Vettel was during the German GP? well everyone gets an off day and if an off day is a fourth place then there shouldn’t be a problem with the rest of the season. Although surely the weakness of the Red Bull cars is evidently hampered after the exhaust diffuser pipe was banned. They will have to regroup but they are more than likely to pull out a good performance on the day. Mark Webber seems to give a consistent output in his positioning but never winning the race, that is, of course, he is unable to wither amongst the circuit winners yet.
Red Power
Even the closest Ferrari trails Vettel with 86 points, Fernando Alonso is confident that his car will make an impact in Hungaroring as the warmer climate will come to his favour. Soft and super soft tyres will be the other advantage that Ferrari will be hoping to maximize. Alonso mounted a serious challenge against Lewis Hamilton last weekend but saw only the positivness in the consistency of finishing amount the podium in the last few races. There will be yet another chance for him to prove his worth again.
Prediction
Based on Power and Speed, F1 looks likely to find different winners with different tactical style in claim the podium. There is no doubt that Lewis Hamilton has what it takes to win races but sometimes, inconsistency is plaguing the McLarens. Red Bull has seen a diminish in speed during the race so it could be issues with the tyre control but Alonso looks likely the man to beat, his consistency is well documented and knowing him, he will be amongst the top all thanks to his driving, safe bet on Alonso but looking for someone to win outright then the Red Bull will come back with a vengeance.
