Consistent Prophete de Guye can strip fitter for a recent pipe opener on seasonal debut and land this afternoon's feature handicap chase at Market Rasen.
The 8-y-o is a very strong traveller who has a string of placed efforts either side of his fourth chase win at Towcester in February. He is sure to be sharper for recent spin over hurdles and has stronger claims than most of these.
Pilot Timmy Murphy is a past master on these hold-up types who need a very patient ride and finessing, and he can swoop late to land the £5300 prize.
Double Chocolate is the main danger and comes here fresh from an impressive Fontwell win 17 days ago. He seemed a different proposition there for his new in-form stable, and is feared despite a steep rise in the weights for that wide margin victory.
Stagecoach 0pal has a decent record at this course but may need a run or two after five months on the sidelines, while the unreliable High Jack is a very doubtful stayer upped in trip here.
In summary, a trappy Sunday handicap, but our selection will be well suited by a fast run race with several prominent frontrunners duelling to dominate. At around 5-1 this morning he is well worth a decent each-way investment.
