Serious the sensible choice for Bangor feature

With Autumn getting into full flow it is time to concentrate fully on the national hunt season ahead, and Bangor stages a decent card this afternoon with our attention focussed on the York Brewery Guzzler handicap hurdle at 4.20 this afternoon.
Phillip Hobbs has had his yard in terrific heart and reintroduces the lightly raced 6-y-o Serious Choice after an absence from jumping of 524 days. Fitness however is never an issue with this stable, and he has also had two spins on the flat recently to get him spot on. He appears very well handicapped carrying just 10-8 and can supplement an impressive win in a Newton Abbot novice when last seen in April 2010.
The frontrunner Rampant Ronnie is sure to ensure a decent pace and managed to land a similar event on his penultimate start. However he is up in the weights and is liable to face competition for the lead here. A bigger danger comes in the form of topweight Sara's Smile, who showed more resolution than usual in landing a modest Cartmel contest last time and has a consistent profile.
At around 5-2 this morning, Serious Choice is a very attractive win proposition against fully exposed rivals. He is in receipt of over a stone in weight from the main danger, and can be settled in rear initially off the expected fast pace before sweeping clear in the short straight under Richard Johnson. This tight, speed orientated Bangor course is sure to suit his run-style and maximum stakes are advised.
