Bella can land Southwell feature on handicap debut

Hughie Morrison's thrice-raced Bella 0rphelia is selected to land Souhwell's featured Download The Blue Square Bet App Handicap at 4.35 this afternoon.
0nly four runners have turned up for this £6500 but they all are useful sprinters who show their best form when dominating from the off, so a real burn up is on the cards.
Bella 0rphelia is open to the most improvement and put up a decent effort on her first attempt on fibresand when landing a decent maiden over course and distance last month. She travelled strongly in front there and appears leniently treated for her handicap debut, with the booking of a red hot Nicky Mackay another positive.
Reve de Jour may prove the biggest danger as she proved a revelation when switched to this deep surface eleven days ago. She showed terrific early pace to race clear over six furlongs that day before responding gamely to repel all, and this drop down to the minimum 5f trip should not be a problem.
Ishiamiracle is another frontrunner who can boast two wins here. She appeared a "winner waiting to happen" when third behind Reve du Jour on her penutimate start, but proved a major disappointment when sent off a very warm 11-8f five days ago. Perhaps she set too fast a pace there, but it was still alarming to see her fade so tamely before the furlong pole and there will be little peace up front this afternoon.
Topweight Bubbly Ballerina completes the quartet and is entitled to respect. Her turf form in some fair juvenile sprints was of a decent standard, winning at Brighton in a match and a Chester nursery, and she comes from a shrewd yard with a good record here. However, she has yet to run on this surface and her better efforts seem to have been when the ground rides fast, so this testing fibresand maybe against her.
In summary, an ideal chance for Bella 0rphelia to land a relatively valuable prize. She can benefit from patient tactics in a race sure to be run at a blistering pace and sweep ahead inside the final furlong as the trailblazers tire. At around 2-1 this morning she is worth a win investment.
