Vamizi primed for victory on seasonal debut

Reliable stayer Vamizi has joined a bang in-form yard, and is fancied to win on his seasonal debut in this afternoon's featured Lloyd Ltd Handicap Chase.
The 8-y-o has an excellent record fresh and relishes any ease in the ground. Fortunately rain has arrived in the North at least and conditions should be ideal in the fiercely competitive and valuable £8700 handicap.
Lucinda Russell has made a flying start to the new season and is sure to have her new charge primed for a big run, with few frontrunners in opposition he should be able to set his own pace and repel all under the useful Peter Buchanan.
Main danger may come from the unexposed Horsham Lad. This lighty raced 7-y-o was very impressive on his chasing debut at Bangor in Apri last year and appears well treated on that. He has improved further by winning in the pointing field in 2011 and represents a new young trainer who has made a decent start to his new career.
Rapid Increase represents the powerful Jonjo/McCoy combination and is sure to be popular. However he has seemed very reluctant on occasions and usually needs a run or two to reach full fitness. Jaunty Journey loves the mud but usually struggles over the larger obstacle and may find his clumsy fencing a major problem in this big field.
In summary, Vamizi is a very interesting runner switched to an in-form yard and has ideal conditions today. He failed to win last season but is sure to be fresh and well for this reappearance and is worth chancing each-way at around 7-1.
