James Moffat's Cabbyl Do can land this afternoon's feature handicap chase at Wetherby, and complete a treble returning from 164 days away from the course.
The 8-y-o really improved when last seen out, landing two soft ground handicaps at Hexham and Perth. He has gone up in the weights as a result but still seems leniently treated against largely exposed rivals, and is expected to go very well under Denis 0'Regan.
Best Lover has been absent for 370 days and clearly has had his share of training problems given a very lightly raced career profile. He will relish the forecast rain that will ease the ground, but hails from a yard having a quiet spell and may need this pipeopener.
Prosecco's stable on the other hand is in blistering form and he shaped well when returning on seasonal debut at Perth, finishing a respectable third over 2m4f. The drop down in trip at this sharp course is a major concern however, and he may struggle to hold his position in a race sure to be run at a decent pace.
Woody Waller is an interesting runner now he has joined John Wade although lumping 11-12 will not be easy if it gets testing, while Cool 0perator has been well beaten in both starts this season and needs a huge drop in trip to revitalise his fortunes.
In summary a competitive contest for the £8700 prize money, but Cabbyl Do is the one progressive runner in the field and will relish the softening ground. He can swoop late past flagging rivals in the straight and is worth an interest at around 4-1 this morning.
