Wide Receiver can complete the hat-trick

Wide Receiver has turned over a new leaf for Charlie Longsden this season, and can land Lingfield's feature Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month Handicap Chase.
The 8-y-o was heavily supported on his debut for this yard and cruised home impressively under today's rider Felix de Giles. He followed up in a better race at Wetherby a fortnight later and, although lumped up in the weights by the handicapper, still appeals as the type to improve further.
He races prominently, and might well gain a soft unhassled lead here with very few trailblazers in opposition for the £5000 prize money this afternoon.
Main danger can come from course specialist Goring 0ne. He readily won a modest handicap here last time out and has an excellent record at this undulating Surrey venue. The step upto three miles is a concern however, and he is a freegoing type who may not get home if the forecast rain eases the ground later on.
Father Probus hails from a new yard that has made an excellent start, and he merits respect after a promising second on his chasing debut at Chepstow in early November. He has a poor win record though and does seem to have plenty of weight based on that form now tried handicapping.
Topweight Credit Crunched showed promise as a hurdler last season and is pitched in at a fair level on his first attempt at the larger obstacles, while Pete the Feat has to find a deal of improvement on his remote fourth on seasonal debut.
In summary a tight handicap, but a decent chance for the in-form Wide Receiver to improve further after two impressive wins. At around 3-1 this morning he is worth a fair win investment to defy a rise in the weights.
