Henry de Bromhead's top class Sizing Europe is a confident selection to land this afternoons Grade 1 Sportingbet Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown.

The £120,000 prize money has attracted a fantastic line-up of proven top class performers pitched in with some highly regarded unexposed types.

0ur selection landed last seasons Queen Mother Champion Chase in bold frontrunning style, and has returned in decent heart in Ireland this term. He was fortunate to win first time out at Gowran, before a very creditable second in desperate ground at Down Royal. Todays faster conditions will be ideal and he is confidently expected to prove his class against some younger pretenders.

Wishfull Thinking was all the rage for the warm Paddy Power Gold Cup in November, but dropped away rather tamely having set a rapid pace. His trainer drops him down four furlongs in trip but it must be doubtful that he will have the raw speed against top class opposition.

Gauvain was a wide margin winner of a match at Cheltenham where his sole rival failed to fire, while the reliable Cornas has run with credit without winning at this level and appears safely held.

Perhaps the French import  Kauto Stone may emerge as the main danger. He arrived with a tall reputation having won a number of minor events at home, and duly sauntered clear in Ireland on his debut for the champion trainer. This is a huge jump up in class however for one so inexperienced, and Ruby Walsh had significantly opted to ride Tataniano before that runner was withdrawn yesterday morning with a season ending injury.

In summary a superb renewal of this early season Grade 1 contest affords Sizing Europe a great chance to add another win to his prolific profile. He will relish this faster ground than the "bogs" he has encounted so far this season and can sit in behind the leaders before pouncing up the hill under regular rider Andrew Lynch. At around 6-4 this morning he is worthy of a substancial win investment.
