Lord Singer set to blitz rivals from the front at Ludlow

Gary Moore's trailblazer Lord Singer is a confident selection to dominate Ludlow's featured Tanners Champagne Handicap Chase at 1.30 this afternoon.
The 6-y-o has gradually recaptured his best form this season, and caught a tartar last time when a clear second to the heavily supported Triangular in a well run handicap. He seems assured of getting an unpestered lead here and the sharp Shropshire course seems sure to suit his run style.
Main danger comes in the shape of impressive Ascot scorer All for Free. He landed some decent bets when powering clear in the straight, and will be fancied by many just four days on to defy a 7lb penalty. That was a particularly modest affair however, with the 2-1f failing to feature, and he was left with very little to beat having come off the bridle earlier than most.
Mark Twain was far from disgraced when second on his chasing debut behind a useful sort and hails from a stable in excellent form. A 72 day absence since is a slight concern that he may have a had a problem or two since, but he is entitled to be thereabouts if fit and well.
Cruchain has a decent record here but hasn't been at his best in recent starts, while Fighting Chance needs to put a poor run at Exeter well behind him if he is to get involved.
In summary a decent field for the £10,000 prize money, but a great chance for Lord Singer to give weight away all round. At about 5-1 this morning he is worth an each-way investment under the promising 5lb claimer Joshua Moore.
