Brian Ellison's progressive new inmate Upper Lambourn can land the feature Thousands Of Sports Experiences at Bluesq.com Handicap at Southwell this afternoon.

The 4-y-o returned with all guns blazing to win both starts here in January for Jamie 0sbourne, with his most recent claiming success a career best effort on the figures. The hat-trick beckons now back handicapping for his new in-form yard.

Main danger may be stablemate Global Village. He has been in cracking form during the past few months, winning three times including two over this course and distance. The veteran 7-y-o lost nothing in defeat when runner-up here 36 days ago and must enter calculations once again.

Avonrose is an interesting runner now tried in a first time visor. She was a back-to-form winner of a decent 7f handicap here before a clear second at Wolverhampton. Her latest fourth over C&D underlined that sprinting is not really her game unless the headgear has a dramatic effect.

Bandstand will be thereabouts if recapturing his form shown here, but a seventh at Kempton last time suggests the handicapper may now be in charge.

Perhaps Dancing Freddy, a strong finishing third four days ago, can finally snap a long losing sequence. His yard has been banging in the winners on the all-weather recently and his pilot Lee Newman is an eyecatching booking.

In summary, a wide open handicap for the £6500 prize money with several possibilities and much depending on fortune in running. Upper Lambourn is open to improvement for Brian Ellison, and his two wins in claiming class have been well advertised by the placed horses. At around 5-1 this morning he is worth a small each-way investment to register course victory number five.
