Fernando Alonso Lewis Hamilton

The time is right to see the Ferrari Fernando Alonso and McLaren Lewis Hamilton ignite their feud in Canada. The F1 weekend in Montreal could see yet another new driver on the podium but knowing the past winners here, Lewis Hamilton will be favourite to see his name up there but he has a long list of name that is ready to take the mantle.

Formula 1 Grand Prix Du Canada

It is time to fly across the Atlantic to see F1 get underway in Canada and maybe find yet another F1 winner adding his name onto the already exhausted long list of names of ht winning drivers. The Canadian Grand Prix will be held from the 8th of June to race day on 10th of June, in which there is a question mark over who will come up triumph in Montreal.

The race circuit is 4.361km with the race distance at 305.270km. All drivers’ will need to complete 70 laps to be crowned as champion of the circuit and Ruben Barrichello’s lap record of 1:13.622 still stands since 2004.  Jensen Button won this race back in 2011 in the McLaren car.

More Winners

Going into the seventh race of the season, the F1 championship has already seen six different winners on podium. Monaco was definitely a surprise when Red Bull Mark Webber lead from pole position to finish which also cemented yet another winner to make things more interesting in the F1 calendar. Whose to know whether there will be more winners in the upcoming race and with Montreal just around the corner, let’s just throw in some new names on the spot.

Montreal Winner

Out of the ones that has already won a race, here are the ones likely to win a race but hasn’t’. Leading from pole position, we have McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton, who disappointed in Monaco by failing to even get podium, F1 legend German Michael Michael Schumacher, who saw a fuel pressure fail him in Monaco, Finnish Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean in the Lotus-Renault and maybe also Felipe Massa in the Ferrari. These are the names that could get their name into the mix as the seventh different driver to win a GP race this year, my money is on Hamilton and Raikkonen.

Already Won

Six already winners have tasted the winning feeling of being on the podium and they would do anything to get themselves back up there in Montreal. Monaco revealed that maybe Pastor Maldonado is just a one-time wonder while Mark Webber is hanging on to the winning momentum. Although the Red Bull cars are deemed illegal with the holes on the car’s floor. So Montreal will be a testing ground for Red Bull and maybe the Red Bull chances will be slim. If consistent is the case, then Fernando Alonso and Nic Rosberg is your bet in getting podium while last but not least Jensen Button returning to the circuit he won last year.

Standings

The F1 standings are a tight knit bunch and only a three point separates Alonso, 76 points, from both defending champion Vettel and team mate Mark Webber at 73 points. Lewis Hamilton is fourth with 63 points and Nico Rosberg at 59 points while Kimi Raikkonen on an impressive 51 points.

Verdict:

If we were to choose a different driver to win Montreal then let’s just go with Lewis Hamilton to finalize the pack. Actually it’s not a bad bet because the McLarens have won here, they were 1-2 last season and 2010 saw Hamilton winning this. So this is definitely an each way while Kimi Raikkonen would be an outsider. Of the six previous drivers, Fernando Alonso is long overdue to triumph on the circuit and yet he is consistently popping up on the podium and could end up number in Montreal.
