F1 Monaco

Lewis Hamilton has failed in five occasions to register a win this season but Monaco could not come any sooner for him to get back on the good side of the track. He will be competing with various previous circuit winner and not mention in five occasions, five different winners in the five GP held up to now.

Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco 2012

Fame and fortune, that is the land of Monte Carlo, who will be hosting the sixth race of the season in 2012. Set aside the fame, the prestige is another factor that all the drivers are wheeling themselves on to win at Monaco. The streets of Monaco will see the transformation of their oldest city roads into one of the world fastest cars circuit to challenge themselves from 24th May to race on day on the 27th May.

The race circuit is 3.340km with the race distance at 260.520km. All drivers’ will need to complete 78 laps to be crowned as champion of the circuit and Michael Schumacher’s hold the record of the lap time of 1:14.439 still stands since 2004. Australian Mark Webber won this race back in 2010 in the Red Bull car. Sebiastien Vettel will return to Monte Carlo as the defending winner of 2011.

Different winners

Five races so far and they all had a different winner in every circuit. Jensen Button, Fernando Alonso, Nico Rosberg, Sebiastien Vettel and recently crowned winner of Spain GP, Pastor Maldonado, did that surprise you? Well, it did and what is more to come from this Venezuelan could be also detailed at Monaco. He is confident that his good form will bring further surprises to the F1 world. He was trailed closely by Fernando Alonso in the Ferrari and it does look like the famous horse symbol is once again in the run for a championship.

One Step Back

Leveled with Alonso on the drivers’ world championship at the top with 61 points is defending champion, Sebiastien Vettel, who only picked up a sixth place in Barcelona. He and both McLaren drivers, Lewis Hamilton and Jensen Button, didn’t go anywhere close to the podium. Although having said that, Hamilton was penalized after taking the grid position at qualifying so he started from last position to get eight. Impressive and surely his car can do some justice at Monaco.

Double take

Each races that comes by, each teams in the F1 circuits are getting better and while some teams get better, some improve and the gap isn’t that massive this season. The Williams-Renault has shown the way while the Lotus-Renault has also shown vast improvement. Once again, both Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean finished in the top half while yet another podium finish for Kimi. This leaves the Mercedes a bit behind after seeing some good result in China.  So a few teams will be fighting for a podium place but who will do the double take.

Verdict:

In exchange for a few dull seasons, F1 2012 has more to afford than ever before. Each races that comes by, one can only speculate who will take the mantle. Hard to call yet again in Monaco but looking at the circuit runs then Lewis Hamilton will have a good shot if he doesn’t get into trouble with the stewards and his name is still missing in winning a race. Inline with what has happen, another driver will get into the book and maybe Hamilton is the guy or Mark Webber, nah, Hamilton.
