From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wolverhampton Racecourse is a thoroughbred horse racing venue located in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, England. The track was the first to be floodlit in Britain and often holds meetings in the evening.

The course has a Polytrack surface, and is one mile in circumference, with left-hand turns — giving it greater commonality with most racetracks found in the United States than with other venues in the UK.

There has been a racecourse in Wolverhampton since 1887, although it has moved location and is now based at Dunstall Park, where it moved at the end of the 1920s.

In December 1993 the course was re-vamped with floodlights and a new all-weather Fibresand track that ran alongside the turf track. A hotel, new grandstand, restaurant and executive boxes were also built at this time. In 1999 the course was bought from private ownership by Arena Leisure. In 2004 the Fibresand and turf tracks were replaced with one Polytrack surface, as well as refurbishment of the hotel and conference facilities. Since that time the course has only held flat all weather races.

The course has been granted planning permission by Wolverhampton City Council, to expand the hotel from 54 to 170 bedrooms and to tarmac the over-spill car park. The £26 million project also includes plans for a casino which would create the first racino in the UK.

Just Bond

WOLVERHAMPTON 5th race,Hdcp, (Class2), (1.900m), STAND.

This is a competitive small field, where JUST BOND has a good value in his price.

He is back now in a track which he loves (won 7 times), and in favourable distance (won twice, and only once out of the places).

HOH WOLTANITE is the value here.

Rarely he runs a bad race at wolverhampton, where he has won 2 of his 3 wins, and 5 times was in the places, running with a bit better horses.

Today he is on his favo...

Will be very hard to beat Estate in this Marathon race, although Arabian Sun is better weighted now to come closer to him, but the value here is undoubtfuly with VICTORY QUEST.

It is true that the selection is more li...

WOLVERHAMPTON 6th race, Hdcp, Class6, (1m6f), Stand.

EASIBET DOT NET is the dark horse in this race, with lot of value in his price.

This seven year old was bussy with jumping events this year, a sign though, that today's long distance would'nt bother. He raced in the p...

WOLVERHAMPTON 4th race, Hdcp, Class 6, (1m141y), ST.

This is an open affair, where KRAKATAU has been underestimated, creating that way quiet some value to his price. The main reason to this is that he was before last on his last run, but this was a come back from a four-month break, o...
