Snooker

Snooker, similar to pool, is a “cue sport.” It is played on a large table with four baskets or “pots, one in each corner, using ” a white cue ball and 21 balls for scoring--15 red worth one point and six balls of other colors worth from 2 to 7 points. The object of the game is for each player to score more points than his or her opponent. This is achieved by “potting” the scoring balls.

At the beginning of each player’s turn, the player must first pot a red ball. He may then shoot at a higher scoring ball. If he makes this shot, he is awarded the points and the scoring ball is returned to the table. He must successfully pot another red  ball, before taking shot at  a scoring ball. If he fails to sink a red ball, or a scoring ball, the table reverts to the opponent. The game ends when all of the red balls have been potted and the winner is determined by who has scored the most points.
