ARSENAL TO QUALIFY FOR QUARTER FINALS

Final result: 4 - 3
Profit: 0.00 - 8 = -8

Arsenal have been drawn agaisnt AC Milan in the last 16 of the Champions League and whilst on paper this looks like a disasterous draw for the North London club I don't see it that way and strongly fancy them to prevail over the 2 legs for 3 reasons:

1. Whilst AC Milan are no doubt a superpower in European terms - 7 Champions League/ European Cup titles and 4 times runner up - this is all in the past and their current team simply don't match up. If Arsenal play the team infront of them and not the history of AC Milan they will win

2. Serie A is a poor relation to the English Premiership. Quite simply if this current AC Milan team played in this years Premiership they would be doing well to finish in the top 8, whereas Arsenal will be in contention for a top 4 finish at least

3. Away from home first is crucial in these ties, as all the pressure is on Milan to go out and win the game and give themselves an edge before the return game in London. This will suit Arsenal who will fancy their chances of at least scoring in Italy and will be satisfied with any result like 1-1, if they can't win the game outright - which I wouldn't rule out at all either

Overall it's a glamour tie but providing Arsenal don't loose RVP between now and the time the games come around I can only see one team progressing to the quarter finals and that's Arsenal

Arsenal to progress to quarter finals is my choice here... Good Luck

Hi Everybody, Thanks for everyone's comment. I will have to say that some ideas are really up for some discussion and so both David and I will bring it up to the panel of BE. However, we cannot promise anything but both David and I can promise you that we will work hard to get what the best out of the community. There is two points to discuss in this thread, besides Milan winning this tie in just one game, so unlucky to luckygirl on this occasion, Arsenal just didn't turn up and that is how betting goes. 1. GB - I would agree that changing the conditions along the way isn't a great situation to be in. Bettingexpert will be in a dialogue with GB. However, I would like to remind the tipster's community that our sponsor are also important members of this site. Your support and their support are in the heart of this site. So I would like to ask that everyone here to be patience on this matter. 2. Tip of the Day - All the admins on the BE site work on a high work ethics when it comes to the tip of the day. It serves a purpose on the BE community and it is something unique to frontpage. There will be some agreements and disagreements along the way, but both david and I will bring this topic up for discussion. Once again, we can assure the BE community that the BE team is striving to improve the site. We will all be doing our part to make sure that this community works on a high integrity to ensure fairness is instil throughout the site. If anyone has any further comments, opinions, critic, feedbacks etc, could I please ask you to direct it to both David and I, in the first instance so that then we can address it properly to the right people in the BE Team. Thanks for your support.

I said it before but i feel a need to say it again, just to be clear :) Just as horseman said, i have nothing against Tip Of The Day, it is probably the best tool on the site and it should WITHOUT A DOUBT stay, i don't even mind if the competition stays, but the prizer for it are just to big and again as horseman mention, it is the volume of money involved that affects players and gives out negative vibes. I wrote my Milan-Arsenal tip 2 weeks before the game started (so far i have been picked in the tip of the day 3 times, all 3 times it was champions league and all tips were winners) Why wasn't i picked again but instead it was luckygirl34? This of course is a rhetorical question, not a real one, but if say 10 people post for example Barcelona-Real 1 before the pick of the day is chosen, how can you choose from those 10 picks if they are all well written, i just strikes me as odd that 5 tipsters have 20+ count while 100 tipsters have less than 5..

PS - Maybe there should be a prize for tip that caused the most controversy as this one must be up there!!!

My own thoughts are that there should simply be a tipster of the year competition, with monthly and perhaps quarterly prizes along the way so tipsters don't loose interest if they fall behind and it keeps an interest going every month I think this anuual competition should carry the most prize money as it simply rewards the best tipsters regardless of sports they're interested in or as some are complaining about - the quality of their English It also rewards consistency as we can all have a good run at times and potentially win a prize or two, but the quality of our tips over say a 4/5 month period may have been poor whilst someone more steady hasn't won anything as he doesn't have as many highs and lows - the tipsters that win the highest prizes should really have the best results over a sustained period of time and not just get lucky with a few long shots! As for other competitions I think it's good to have individual sports within seperate competitions if sponsorship income allows it. I'm surprised football isn't already one of those sports as it attracts much more tips in here than every other sport from what I've seen so far but perhaps the income comes from specific budgets within different departments of the sponsors and they want it for certain sports they're trying to increase turnover on, hence why we have the likes of golf, rugby & cricket competitions in here and none for football As for tip of the day I agree that it's an invaluable tool for members, especially new members and I would like to see this stay although I still think the tipster of the year competition should carry the highest reward as it avoids any element of tipsters feeling 'hard done by' it simply rewards the best and each tipsters returns will stand or fall on their own merits, with no element of luck involved Regradless of how the competitions are organised in the future I think it would cause mayhem if they were altered before reaching their natural conclusions and all of these ideas should be considered for later in the year when most of the current competitions come to a natural finish Finally, as a relatively new member I'd just like to add that I enjopy this site and whilst there's aspects I'd like to see changed or improved I don't think there's many better sites out there so it's important to bear that in mind when we're all jumping on the complaints bandwagon! Good Luck

I agree with most people on here that the most hits competition is pointless as it is oviously so easy to manipulate your figures to win and despite BE putting in steps to stop the 'cheating' elements it is still easier to get to the top if you have facebook accounts etc etc and I think we now all know how easy it is to falsify the no of hits thanks to Lakukaracha's points above - the least contentious issue with the competition is that the prize money is not very big. And that is the problem with some of the other competitions - if there is a lot of money riding on a competition the focus amongst the tipsters obviously increases and its fairly obvious if your the best tipster of the month because all the tips are audited and everyone can see all the tips and its all very transparent. The tip of the day competition isnt transparent because it is picked by someone at BE and wih so much money at stake it has caused a lot of arguments and as you can see from this post a lot of discussion around it. You quite often get tipsters complaining about the tip of the day and saying they cant believe how it could have been selected and why wasnt their bet selected because it was a 10/10 etc etc - you just need to look down this chain of posts to find an exact example of this. I am sat in 5th on the tip of the day competition currently so have had my far share of tips selected and it always give me a buzz to get a tip selected because it means someone else rates your tip highly but the size of the prize money gets in the way of people appreciating the good level of tips that are selected generally - and as Poglavica mentions a lot of other people come to the site because of the tip of the day and i think it should remain - perhaps if the prize money was lower people wouldnt complain about the tips and question why their tip wasnt selected. IN terms of other competitions for other sports I think that as long as there are enough tipsters betting in those sports then there should be a competition i.e. handball, volleyball, and of course football as almost all of us place football tips but there does need to be enough tipsters participating - at the moment we have the Cricket competiion where there is big prize money and only 3 tipsters have written any tips. I think that the top prizes for these individual sport related contests should be reduced but there should be more of them and perhaps have more regular prizes. The tip of the day has to remain but again prize money should potentially be reduced so that it reduces the level of sniping when people dont get selected as it should be an honour to be selected as teh tip of the day. I think that the main prizes for the monthly top tipster are okay as this should be the main tournament and have the highest prizes although with Game bookers changing their T&C's and now only providing a free bet up to that value it means that it is not prize money it means that you have to select a winning tip to get access to any money and we all now that its not easy to pick winning tips. I also like the idea of competitions that have individuals competing against each other but again the prizes would have to be low to stop any arguements.

Yes luckygirl england is far away from last years i'm not Milan big fan but i watch big teams from every league and like i said on wednesday Boateng is playing HOME WIN no doubt about that. Milan without Boateng and with Boateng is different team. When they are healthy i think only Real Barsa and maybe Bayern Munchen can beat them. If you watch the match at San Siro with Barsa you'll know what am talking about. They are far away from poor team and my opinion is that are very underestime this year. Even if Arsenal play best football as they can they will stil loose this match

LaKukaracha wrote: >>16.02.2012, 12:29 CET >>And yes, on several ocassions i talked to >>Henrik, provided him with numerous ideas cut for brevity .... +1 Regarding the most hits competition. I'm aware that I'll never land even near to the first three places. One, if not the most obvious reason for that, is for sure that I do not have a Facebook account (I'd rather drop dead than to create one). However, that doesn't mean that I'm sad about that, in fact, I give a .hit about this competition. But, once again, I must also say that LaKukaracha is on the right path when he says that competitions in which not all participants have the same chances from the beginning or the possibilities to cheat are given, don't make any sense, at least IMHO. Again, I don't give a .hit about any money or prizes, as I make my living with betting and other projects/work, but I do care about fairness, and I mean fairness for all involved. In regard to the pick of the day competition. As I'm directly involved there, as one of top 6, it may sound selfish, but I still think that it doesn't matter if someone writes perfect english or not. My english isn't perfect too, and believe me, I saw some "pick of the day" when I barely understood a sentence, even fighting very hard. Furthermore, it is obvious that the pick of the day competition is one, if not the main reason, why new people land here. It would be a pity if such a competition would be manipulated by the editors/admins. From my point of view, that's for sure not true. If anybody has a better idea how to rate the pick of the day competition, step forward, go on, share your thoughts. Just forget the idea to involve the tipsters to vote for the tip of the day, as in that case we would land in chaos here, and that's the last thing this site/competition needs. Hough!

All input is useful here as that helps us improve on things. Just don't be too dramatic about it. It is not the end of days around here. In fact it is still a place where loads of people come visit and sign up as tipsters. There must be something useful gained then. There is always room for improvement. You can criticize Mercedes, Zidane, Husain Bolt, Kobe, Bar Refaeli, Penelope Cruz and Yolante Sneijder as well if you make it a point to spot the defects. We try to improve things and had this not been the case we would not have asked for opinions from you guys now that there might be a possibility for changing a few things. Of course we cannot accommodate all requests, mainly because some things things do not depend directly from us. However, no comment and no e-mails sent were ever disregarded LaKukaracha. In fact I still have it in my inbox. Read. And we did something about it. The Most Hits competition is now getting data collected from other more reliable sources. That is why you could not be able to relate winners to any standings you may find on the site at the moment. Readings are, however, reliable so there is no abuse we know about which the winners have been involved in. All BE team members work hard to get things done and if you look back from a few months ago there have been new features coming up to make BE more enjoyable. We cannot deal with everything at one go, especially if we want them to be done the right way.

And now i will take the story to the end. All cards on the floor. I also sent BE an email when i found out that the Most Hits competition is nothing but a one big cheat. Member Ledi17 was cheating forever in it so were every other winners. You can pump up your views by yourself. All you have to do is bookmark the tip than exist BE, turn OFF the browser, come back in and go on your link-you get one more hit (view etc). Create a folder with 30-50-100 of the same tips and all you have to do is click on the OPEN ALL. I know this because i did it and i sent BE an email and told them this. They fixed it and after that Ledi17 was no where to be found. The next month i was actually making an effort to do something regarding the most hits when i saw ''karatekid'' getting 1000 views in less than an hour, than i just types ''how to get views on your site'' in google and found out that there actually exist an INDUSTRY of how to get views. All you have to do is pay a couple of bucks and they give you hunders, thousands of hits.. There is also the free variety called traffic sharing or something like that where you look at other peoples site and they look at yours.. So that is another way to make fake hits. I than sent an email again to Henrik (owner of BE) telling him this, he didn't reply, i thank talked to Joe, David and was ignored.. Not only can you cheat your way on the most hits competition this way but also on the BE points which Ledi17 is doing for a long time now, so is ptcviet (PTC means PAY TO CLICK) I also figured out that all i need to do is reset my modem and click on my affiliate link (the one you put on bet help) in order to get 1 BE point for view. I gave all this facts to BE but they just didn't seem interested? Some time ago i actually needed some money and collected 3000BE points in 5 days in this way just so i could get the free 50euros. I say you should restrict BE points in some way, put a monthly limit on how much can be gathered, and ELIMINATE the most hits competition because there is to big of a potential for cheating, and i am saying this from 1st hand. All you need to do to win it is put the link on a site called ''smileytraffic'' and than press ''auto surfing'' Lets make this place abuse free, equal rights for all.

I have to be clear- i have nothing against Tip of the day, it is one of the best-if not the best tool of the website. The competition however isn't. To much money is involved and that is what is stirring things up. You can still continue rewarding but make the prizes A LOT, LOT, LOT smaller (maybe in the ranks of Most Hits competition?) and use the money for a good cause. i.e. a NORMAL competition that won't be decided by a ''divine hand''.

This has certainly stirred the emotions.. My own opinion on Tip Of The Day is that it must be useful to regular followers of it as its returned an excellent profit since its inception of almost 400 points so it must be making followers of it some money if they take the tips I'd personally like to see a competition for soccer as it appears to draw the most interest and gauging from this tip - emotions! I'm fairly new to the site and was attracted initially by the tip of the day aspect, as it provides decent previews of some events I have limited knowledge on I'm not aware who picks these tips but they must be doing something right if the profit is so good and it can't be simply down to good English Just my own thoughts... Good luck

Totally agree with La Kukaracha here...

And yes, on several ocassions i talked to Henrik, provided him with numerous ideas which he liked but non of which were completed. Survival competition-where every tipster has a chance to created the longest run of winning tips in a row-but when he losses he just restarts, so he wins 3 in a row and than losses one, than he makes 5 in a row-his record will say 5. Ofcourse there should be minimal odds involved to make it a bit more difficult (perhaps odds od 2.00) Team competition- where members from the top ten would couple in the next month (1st and 10th, 2nd 9th) and work together for a smaller prize but with greater interest. There were a couple more ideas but i don't even remember them any more.. To much money is being wasted on stuff that has a near ZERO potential to attract new people. Golf, Horses and Cricket are here for such a long time and no one is even bothering to play them, they just don't know what to write because of the ''dang'' 100 word rule, you created a survey a time back because of this and after receiving many idea you did what-nothing? Those competitions are still ghost towns and will remain that until the last month when you will see utter ranting and BS (from my behalf included) just so tipsters can give it a go, nothing to lose.. Well nothing to gain either except for the lucky few :)

I hear you David and i understand you, still i think that the whole competition is a ''dangerous weapon'' and i think the money would be much better spent if you created two separate competitions, Hockey and Volleyball. I would much rather grab a tip that is written with 100 great words 3 hours prior to start than two pages of ''ranting'' for a very commercial game out there that has a similar potential to end in what ever way exists (1x2, O/U etc..) and was written ALMOST solely for it to be in the prize (tip of the day) With this you are going to keep making 5 people happy and the rest unhappy with a solid chance for a back fire. You have golf and cricket competition that are being payed SILLY MONEY but you don't have Hockey, Volleyball, NFL and you give much lower prizes on Tennis and Basketball.. I as a member am not pleased how things look at the moment.

The winners of the two previous editions of the Tip of the Day competition are hunedoara1979 and profitt. Any of you guys British? Nothing has changed with who selects the Tip of the Day from back then. The two are also in the top five this year. What the indication may be is that, as I already said, getting the tip up early is important too. That was the original reason why the competition started. To encourage tipsters to have their picks up before the three-hour deadline or that proximity. It certainly does not mean that any other tip not selected or tipsters consistently not selected for it are not worthy of it. The final standings of the monthly competition give more of an indication to the value of tips in the end. I have always thought about it this way and am realizing now why you guys might have thought otherwise. It is a misconception though.

Sorry but i think it did, at least in those odds. I wrote my Milan tip early on, wanted to grab the odds od 2 since i though that was very generous. In the end odds went up to 2.2, shame but ''no biggie''. I believe Darkman's outburst wasn't focused at you per se, that is not on your overall skills as a tipster, stats etc but more on the fact that your tip was chosen as the tip of the day and in all reality it didn't have any right to be there, not at those odds, not with Arsenal as they look today and finally not with the confidence describer by you in your review. Truth is strange things happen in football, more then ever before in this day of age, but (and am saying this regarding what David mentioned) there is a difference when you play on Blackburn against Man. Utd and say ''this may very well be the miracle of the round'' and saying that Milan is a poor team who would be in the middle of Premier league. Your confidence was over exagerated but again, i believe the tip would very well go unnoticed if it wasn't the Tip Of The Day. Giving it that ''noble title'' has once again stirred emotions of many tipsters regarding the competition which clearly has no real value as it is chosen by one man alone and many of the picks chosen just aren't worth it. Also the fact that 3 out of 5 of the best are British proves that it is more important to wrap the pick in a eye soothing paper (i.e. good english with some fancy words and false confidence) than providing straight up facts duged out from a deep well so hard to reach by many. It is my personal belief that you shouldn't be offended by Darkmans words as you are just the collateral damage.

Lakukuracha - it certainly defies logic now after the first leg! I didn't think it defied logic at the time obviously but I seriously don't think anyone expected that scoreline last night (even Darkman) Ah well - onto another few bets now to claw it back hopefully... Good luck

nephente - perhaps I was slightly exagerating the point about Milan when I mentioned the top 8 in England. The standard in England is obviously nowhere near what it was a couple of years ago but I still feel Milan would strugle to compete week in week out with the top English sides, although it now looks like this Arsenal side are no longer one of the 'Top' English sides following that shemful performance last night which could prompt even the most optimistic of Gunners fans to call for the head of Wenger

ilredelmarnero - I didn't mean any disrespect to Milan in my precition and they performed excellently last night. They were certainly helped by a ridiculously poor Arsenal team who seemed to lack spirit. I simply called the bet as I saw it at the time and unless a miracle happens (which it won't) then I got it wrong

Darkman - I think I'll take a deep breath before replying to this outburst but here goes.... I got the bet wrong - big deal - you got it right - congratulations, what wonderful wisdom you have! I fail to understand your anger with this bet - I got it wrong - I get lots of predictions wrong - as do you, but you don't see me coming into your loosing predictions (of which there are plenty) and attacking them I stand by what I said in my prediction and just becuase it didn't work out doesn't mean the tip was 'crap' as you put it. Arsenal simply failed to show up last night and should've at least kept the tie alive. They didn't - they bottled it and my bet went down the pan - that's life and I didn't have a crystal ball to know that would've happened By the way have you looked at your own football stats recently? Maybe you should look at your own stats a little closer before labelling my ones as 'crap' as overall I'm very happy with my return from football tips I've posted on here and they stand up to scrutiny by anyone This 1 didn't work out - plenty have done and I'll keep betting and prediting as I see fit and certainly wouldn't be taking any of your football tips which overall have been shockingly poor (or should I say crap?) By the way I fancy Arsenal to win the return leg 5-0 !! (And before you start another battle about that scorleine prediction I'm being sarcastic!) As you say - no hard feelings & good luck

Just saw your comment Darkman and I want to be objective in replying to this. I don't think personal attacks can lead anywhere actually so I'll pass on the entirety of the comment. This tip was posted back in December and was chosen sometime back then as Tip of the Day. I myself may not agree with what luckygirl34 said in the write-up, in fact I don't in relation to some parts of it, but that is not enough to consider a pick or the choice of it as Tip of the Day, "shameful". I thought Arsenal were not going to lose but it did not happen. Fans are allowed to make comparisons which have little influence in reality. Comparisons which cannot be objectively disproved and quite frankly difficult to debate. Had somebody spoken about how Mirandes would be eliminating Liga sides Villareal, Racing Santander and Espanyol from the Copa del Rey, and scoring three against Athletic Bilbao, fans of those teams would feel insulted by the comments given the difference in the potential of the teams in relation to Mirandes. They would not have been correct though, not even when it came to betting terms. Debating the difference in quality between two teams of the calibre of Milan and Arsenal does not seem out of place, even if one considers Milan inferior in his argumentation. Even when it comes to betting people are allowed that if they believe it to be thus. Remember the Mirandes case. The underdog does sometimes defy odds and in the case of Mirandes the margin was much higher than that of Arsenal beating Milan in San Siro. Objective bookmaker odds sustain that. As title holders Milan had a few years ago traveled to Deportivo la Coruna, now a Segunda Division side in Spain, and with a 4-0 lead from the first leg in Milan still could not qualify in the knockout stages. Milan fans would have not been vociferous about being insulted after the game had somebody spoken about how they would go on and slip up. Would United fans have been right in feeling offended by a pick we had of Blackburn winning at Old Trafford this season? If it did not happen we might have had United fans writing similar comments about how on earth could anyone think Blackburn were to manage a win over there and that the tipster's choice was stupid and 'shameful'.

Well no disrespect about you luckygirl everyone can mistake but like i said Milan is far better than Arsenal and that post that Milan will finnish 8 place in england doesn't look so logical now

I was the first impressed with the tone of this tip. It is very insulting and not objective. How could someone who watch football say that Milan would be at the level of Norwich in Premier League.

I wont be as drastic as Darkman to call it a ''shame'' but i must say i was very surprised to see this tip as the tip of the day. IMO it had no right to be there and this is a bet i would never place, not even if i had millions and billions, it just defies logic.

I am watching these comments and bets, in particular this one! Honestly, I just can't respect someone as tipster who writes this crap! Luckygirl, I am only honest and I don't have anything against you, but these kind of analysis are crap! David, "good job", again! Keep on providing anyone's bet with 8/10 instead of mine or else with 10/10! Nice job indeed, for those who pays you for it! In my country we call it "shame"!

Please explain since football is playing in Italy when did you saw a beautifull football in italy. They play defensive football and that is not from yesterday. Boateng playing from the first minute HOME WIN no doubt about that

Arsenal are finding some decent form at just the right time for this fixture.. I expect them to score tonight at the very least and home advantage in return leg will be a big factor.. Henry's last involvement for Arsenal tonight also sets it up nicely!

Football in Italy has it's own attraction, poisitioning and the element of genius. You'll get the odd player that are just mastercraft at dribbling or passing, however then you'll also have fouling, diving and hand gesture. Doesn't matter what year it is or even how many teams in CL this season, Serie A has it's own flavour. Milan has turned into a working horse team rather than hanging onto to the architect role for example.

Please explain the sensation when watching a match in Serie A!

What value might have Seria A??? Well look italy is only country with 3 teams in elimination round. Team who probably wont play next year in champions league eliminate first team in england in match to be or not to be. So italy is not that bad as everyone say i consider fact how good is england league. As for this match Milan have trouble but Arsenal players are immature for this kind of matches they don't have enough experience and that i see as i big problem for arsenal and that's why i'm backing milan here

What value might have Serie A right now, if a player like Thereau is in the first XI of a mid team in Serie A? Come on, we're not in the 90's or 80 s

If Milan is struggling for players, then the win over Udinese did not help their struggle. Although, it was a late winner and a few players out, Milan knows that a win at home is the only way out if they want to advance into the next round. Arsenal to qualify is a good bet as to current situation.

At the moment I would go for this tip to return profit. Milan will only now recover some players and it may be too late. Arsenal can do enough at the San Siro to make it an uphill struggle for Milan in London later on in March.

Arsenal starting to show some fighting qualities in recent weeks which they'll need for their two legs with Milan

Yes next year but milan play with arsenal this year not next one. That's why i told you tevez is not relevant for this tip. There is 99% chanse tevez to come in juny and pato to leave milan. Bosses at milan are sick and tired from pato injury's and he probably be sold in juny. But there is some rumors that berluskoni will sell the club to russian or fly emirates like he said him self he gives 80-100 milion euros every year for Milan and he consider the idea to sell milan. So let's leave juny and next year and concontrate on this year and 15 february to make some profit

"next season they can be the number one outsiders for the Champions League behind the Spanish giants" ...'next season' is the key phrase. His ineligibility for the CL now was a given. Milan are still in discussions to bring Tevez in next June. They were very very close in January but it fell through.

And David i don't know what is so important even if tevez made a transfer to Milan he still can't play champions league cause he was in official team in city against bayern munchen

It means spiritual purification or if you know what is Nirvana it's similar. About tip now look with more sense. Akvilani out Pato out Boateng out. Boateng should be back but not akvilani and Merkel who get back from genoa also out. So boateng should be back maybe even pato but it will be big question how will they play after one month out of field. But Ibra is in fantastic form. Tough match but i'm still with my bet home win 1-0 or 2-1

Nepenthe - what does it mean Nepenthe? I know is a Finnish word and there is also a song from the Sentenced band! Can someone explain to me? Thanks! P.S. Manchester City is not the best team in England! That one is Manchester United. Manchester City is the one that invested the most of them!

he has been thinking over that issue too much. His hesitation has been costing Arsenal and may cost them the fourth place this season. Three players were on his list this summer. Cahill, now at Chelsea, Jagielka, currently ruled out with injury until the beginning of March, and Samba who is easier to go for but will be meeting much resistance from a team struggling for survival.

Think Arsenal should've brought Tony Adams or David Seaman back instead of Henry judging by yet another laughable defensive performance yesterday. Wenger must surely go get a centre half in this window??

We might be very close to that actually as Inter's may have been a bluff to avoid Milan getting the player cheaply. If PSG go for Kaka there will be few options left for January. He would deserve it. His attitude, as you say, sets the wrong example.

Would love to see Man City do us all a favour & let Tevez rot in the reserves... He's a terrible example for young supporters & typifies what ordinary supporters now hate about our once cherished sport

Pato refused the transfer to PSG. Milan do not have money to invest on Tevez. Now PSG and Inter remain on the hunt for his signature. The Tevez saga continues.

It's certainly a well balanced encounter and should be good viewing. Home advantage in leg 2 could be the defining factor and I also fully expect Arsenal to at least score in Milan

PSG have signed Pato. That's where the money for Tevez will be coming from. Euro35 million should be cashed in by Milan.

Tevez should actually be officially signed by Milan in the coming hours.

A well balanced encounter this one. Difficult to say who will actually go through at this point. It may depend on injuries the teams will have to deal with when they face each other. In any case Milan have more star players and individually they are better than Arsenal. Wenger is a better manager than Allegri though and Arsenal do play better more often than Milan do. They are more of a team. Their defence may give them away however. Doubts about Milan's quality should be related more to how they get along as a single unit. Should they get Tevez, an important left-back and a Xavi/Pirlo-like figure in midfield, along with a better manager with the right experience next season they can be the number one outsiders for the Champions League behind the Spanish giants. Within a Premier League context Milan, like most other Italian teams, would probably suffer the fighting spirit of the English teams.

Yes it's diffucult but i don't see any team from england who can play with milan right now. Milan is too strong for arsenal in every positions and another thing football style which is play in england is far away from football at champion league. Maybe you speak about milan from 1-2 years ago but now in first team except van bommmel there is no player older than 29 years. Boateng and Nocerino play excelent in there team so i will take this home win but i will wait to see will they get healthy

nephente that's my opinion - football's all about them - it's obviously factually impossible to say where teams would finish in other leagues but for me if Milan played in the Premiership, with their current squad, then yes they would do well to finish anywhere higher than 8th!!

I just gonna say ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Milan will be happy if he finnish 8 in england??? And Premierleague is far better from Seria A??? And they are slow??? Are you talking about current Milan or milan from last year??? This is not an opinion this is nonsense

Your right about Van Persie he's definitely their main goal threat and if Milan stifle him they stand a great chance of progression. The teams that have punished Arsenal this season though have played with pace and I just don't think Milan have enough of this. Time will tell though as Arsenal are certainly not invincible

Only problem with your statement is that Milan have the best central defender Thiago Silva, while Arsenal defender are very slow and will play against Pato and Robinho. I have seen Arsenal recent matches and they got only Van Persie capable of scoring and they are scoring few goal.

ilredelmarnero - the English Premiership isn't my league, I'm from Ireland and have no loyalty to any leagues, it's simply my opinion. Your right Man City went out to Napoli and they deserved to triumph but they'll achieve nothing in the Champions League as they're simply not strong enough. Barcelona & Real Madrid are a class above the rest at the moment closely follwed by Bayern Munich and after that it doesn't really matter as none of the other remaining teams including Arsenal & Milan are capable of winning this year. Milan are an old team and much too predictable & slow. Arsenal are far from the best English team this season and will do well to finish 4th in the Premiership but they'll knock Milan out and probably win both legs

Serie A is a poor relation to the English Premiership? Seriously? Your best team is out of the competition having lost against the Serie A sixth of Napoli! Inter won two years ago, while last english won is of 2008. 3 italian win, against 2 in last 10 year and if Milan didn't suicide it would have been 4 to 1.

I think as long as Van persie is fit this has a great chance of winning - good luck
