6 POINTS NEW YORK GIANTS +3 AH BEAT NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (NFL SUPERBOWL) @1.86 PINNACLE

The NFL Superbowl is one of the biggest sporting events around. It will be watched by millions of people accross the globe and every year it is a spectacular event which is definatly worth watching. I dont normally place tips on the NFL because it is one of the biggest stat heavy sports around and there are stats on every angle and as there are so many stats to consider its very time consuming understanding all the data and interpreting what that data means before you begin to put all that information together into a betting strategy so I tend to leave the tipping to the other experts on here who cover this sport very well but I will make an exception for the Superbowl (although my analysis wont be based on too many stats).

I think that this will be one of the closest fought Superbowls for a few years - it pits the New York Giants against the New England Patriots and halfway through December i wouldnt have predicted that the New York Giants would be here. They were struggling to win games and had won 7 and lost 7 of their 14 games at that stage and in their division they were being outplayed by the Philadelphia Eagles and dallas Cowboys. They have however managed to come together as a team and have turned round their season and havent lost since then. They ended the regular season with a record of won 9 and lost 7 and had to go through the wild card play offs where they beat Atlanta Falcons 24-2 to book their place in the Divisional play offs. They then beat the Green Bay Packers who were widely tipped as favourites to win the Superbowl and at the time were as short as 2-1 to win the Superbowl. The Green Bay Packers had a regular season record of won 15 and lost 1 so were easily favourites for this match but their head coach had a family tradegy and this probably affected the team a bit but they were completly outplayed by the New York Giants as they won 37 - 20. In the final play off match to win the NFC title they had to play the San Francisco 49ers who had a regular season record of won 13 and lost 3 and again who were favourites to beat the Giants and in what was a very close match the Giants won the match 20-17 in overtime. They now face the New England Patriots and will feel that they with their performances massively improving they will have a great chance of winning the main event.

The New England patriots have had an excellent season and in the regular season have a great record of won 13 and lost 3 and with that record they didnt have to go through the wild card play off route as they had the best record in the AFC division and were the top seed. their divisional match was against the Denver Broncos and they beat them comfortably 45-10. They then played the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC division championship game and in a very close match managed to win 23-20 tobook their place in the Superbowl.

New England are the favourites to win the Superbowl and you can see from their record above why they are the favourite but with the much improved battling performances from the New York Giants I can see this match being very close and the reason why the +3 handicap is important is if the match is tied after the 4th quarter the next team to score in overtime will win and if this is the case then it will almost certainly be a field goal (worth 3points) which wins the match and if that is scored by New England and they win by 3 poits then our stake is returnedsowe get a bit of cover if the match is very close.

In summary New England are a very good team but they are playing a revitalised Giant team who have been playing very well in their last few games and i think this will be a close match so am going for the New York Giants +3 to beat the New England Patriots on the Asian handicap market
