3 GOALS OR MORE AT ANFIELD ON MONDAY NIGHT
Final result: 0 - 0Profit: 0.00 - 8 = -8
Monday Night Football sees title chasing Tottenham travel to Anfield to take on top 4 chasing Liverpool and this is a game that could finish with either team winning or a draw - it's very difficult to call a winner here for a host of reasons and I could make a strong argument for any of the 3 result possibilities
Therefore, I've decided to stay away from the result prediction here and have opted for the over/under 2.5 goals market which means any result that involves a minimum of 3 goals provides us with a winning bet and I like the chances of that more than anything else I've contemplated for this fixture
Liverpool along with Man City remain the only unbeaten Premiership sides on home soil but Liverpool's season has been blighted with home draws to so called lesser teams such as Swansea, Sunderland & Norwich. However, this is mainly down to those type of teams accepting they can't impose themselves on the game and they sit back and defend in numbers, frustrate Liverpool and try to hit them on the counter atack or from set plays
Tottenham arrive at Anfield believing they can win the game and won't sit back like those teams did and allow Liverpool to dictate matters and will attempt to push forward and attack their hosts, which will play into Liverpool's hands and provide them with more opportunities to score. Bellamy could prove a handful for Spurs if he's selected as he has pace to burn and with Spurs set to play with 2 wide men and Modric in the middle they'll certainly be vulnerable when their play breaks down
As for Tottenham well they've proved this season that they are now a genuine top 4 side and if they really believe this then the league championship isn't beyond them this season as they sit just 5 points off the sumitt going into this weekends fixtures. Bale & Lennon provide them with real pace down the flanks that very few teams can cope with and with so many other attacking players like Adebayor, Modric, Defoe & Van De Vart within their ranks it's difficult for the opposition to close them all down, so this provides Tottenham with plenty of opportunities of their own
Away from home Spurs have only lost 3, scored 20 times & conceeded 15 in 11 games and were very unfortunate not to at least end Man City's 100% home record only 2 weeks ago when Defoe came so close to winning it only for Balotelli (who shouldn't have been on the pitch and was subsequently banned for 3 games) to score a last gasp winner. This was despite falling 2 goals down and fighting their way back to 2-2 so this performance should surely have provided them with the belief they can sustain their title challenge
Motivation for both sides coming into this game is big and both must win because they'll be the last to play in this round of fixtures and they could find a draw leaves them falling further behind their rivals or if their rivals slip up on Saturday or Sunday then it's a big opportunity to improve their respective positions, so I don't see either team settling for a draw here and I expect both to come forward in an attempt to win as both view each other as vulnerable and both will believe they can win
All these factors point me towards the over 2.5 goals market as opposed to predicting the actual outcome, as I believe that's on a knife edge for this one and as I said at the start it's easy to make an argument for any of the 3 result possibilities
Head to head between these 2 also point me towards the over 2.5 goals market as 7 of their last 10 encounters have finished with at least 3 goals and the other 3 games had 2 goals, so this is a fixture that normally delivers goals to both sides with 33 being scored in their last 10 head to heads, so I'm banking on that terend continuing regardless of the result
Over 2.5 goals is my pick here... Good Luck

Thanks Joe - let's hope so as both teams need the 3 points which should result in goals!

the game might end in a draw?? it happens in Liverpool v Man City 1-1 and 2-2.

Cm840 - a draw isn't unlikely but if it gets to 1-1 I believe both teams will push for a winner & deliver the 3rd goal

I've got to go against the run of the play and vote for a home win. If liverpool wants to charge for the 4th place, this is a good time to raise their contentions for this. Spurs might not keep up with manchesters any loss of points will see them through to at least a CL spot.

Joe there's no doubt Liverpool can win this game - they're at home, on form and Spurs will definitely attack which will provide them with chances unlike when Swansea, Sunderland, Blackburn & others came to Anfield and parked their bus! I'll take any result with 3 or more goals... Good Luck

Over is a good bet but so is a home win. Although on the latter I would have expected much higher odds.
Whether Liverpool can win this one depends a lot on how Dalglish will line up. Carroll again after the good displays alongside the returning Suarez? If he also goes for the wingers and Gerrard who will be defending in midfield? Over looks better priced in my opinion.

The past three games for liverpool have seen two goals per game while Spur is scoring regularly so no prize for guessing what they are about to do on Monday. I think this one is onto a winner and good luck.
