Melbourne Heart was experiencing crisis of victory entered the new year. They have not won and just grabbed two draw from six games this year. The lost of key player Fred in midfield affect team performance. Team condition is getting worse, especially in the middle sector after other key players Matt Thompson (mid, 19 app) certainly miss in this game followed by Mate Dugandzic (mid, 17 app), Jason Hoffman (mid, 14 app) and Aziz Behich (def, 18 app) which called for national team duty. Coach John Van schip has to call few players from the youth team to sit on the bench and probably would play Craig Goodwin (def, 0 app) at left-back.

Victory will also without three regular players due to country duties such as Foschini (def, 14 app), Ferreira (mid, 12 app) and Cernak (mid, 12 app) but coach Mehmet Durakovic still has some options as substitute and two key players Harry Kewell (mid, 17 app) and Archie Thompson (att, 19 app) are in fit condition.

This is big derby, and both teams would play all out to win. Victory has the worst record in away games (1-1-6), but Heart also doesn't have an impressive home record (3-2-4). Losing two key players in Heart side would greatly affect performance of the team in this match and I expect to be exploited by Victory to end five straight defeats in the last five on the road games, at least get a point in this game.
